How can you nominate a town flying the Stars and Bars?!?

Worst place as in shock factor?
Jonestown, Mississippi. It was half flooded to be fair but wouldn't have made any difference. There was a knife fight going on in the middle of the street as we passed through the red light in a hurry.
Worst town?
Possibly Ferriday, Louisiana
Place was unusually rough and in disrepair from what I remember.

GTFO with this nonsense. Sleepy little old Florida fishing town is a great place to visit. The Gibson Inn is a great place to stay.

Did a week long drive through the country and Huambo was terrifying when we rolled in. There were military guarding the entry into the city and people walking around the streets huffing gasoline. Check out the bullet holes in this building.
For the US I nominate Wamsutter, WY.

Gary IN is hell on earth. Parts of Memphis are really nasty as are sections of Baltimore. I drove down a street in Baltimore recently that was full of abandoned cars, boats, riding lawnmowers etc… Lower 9th ward pre Katrina. Jackson, MS. Bogalusa. Countless impoverished small towns in MS/LA/AL.

West Memphis Arkansas

Newark NJ is a terrible place but at least you can find some good Italian food and see the NY skyline.
I feared for my well-being the most in East St Louis but at least you’re 20 minutes away from the Arch and a great MLB stadium.
I always come back to Jackson MS for being the worst mix of depressing, dangerous, and hot af.

I'm from a town so small we can't even call it a town.
But this place was a dump. Population sign said 53. I don't think I saw more than 4.
Walked into the sunburst mercantile with my very young ex wife, an old guy and a seemingly retarded guy are both talking about screwing the same girl.
And the retarded guy was embarassed because she was fat
The old man sees my ex wife and starts wiping his mouth and teeth with a hankerchief.
Bought some drinks and gas, and GTFO. It was like being in the beginning of a horror movie.

Hard to pinpoint the worst because I have been to some real shithole towns and cities. The common factor in the places I’ve been is that white residents are a minority.

I worked in Liberia and Monrovia was pretty bad, also worked in Iraq and many more countries in west africa but nothing compares to parts of South Africa. My wife and I were in a taxi driving from Cape Town to Stellenbosch in South Africa. Some locals were burning tires in the street both in front and behind us, they were given a heads up somehow we were driving through so we had to detour and drive straight through the slums of cape town. I didn't think we would make it out alive. Even the driver was scared.
