Yeah, my in laws. They all fricking suck except one. They haven’t even met their grand daughter who turns 3 soon. If you see them riding bikes, I’ll send ya $100 to run em over.

Sorry, but we're full. Try New Caney and Porter.

The Woodlands is so 2008.

In before a bunch of "we're full posts" from people who moved there in 2019.

What you want recs on?

I will say The Woodlands is the premier ‘suburb’. The waterway, Hughes Landing, outdoor music pavilion, etc. offers high end entertainment and restaurants unlike most suburbs with the cookie cutter chain strip malls.

Great golf, but I’d recommend joining a course as the public courses are overpriced and meh. Woodlands CC, Augusta Pines, Lake Windcrest, etc.

Great outdoor activity with miles of bike and running trails and lots of active adults.

Lake Conroe a few exits up the freeway.

Very safe, great schools, and clean.

Nearby areas booming (Magnolia, Conroe, Willis, etc). Exclude anything south as Spring is becoming a shithole.

No reason to ever drive to Houston sans an Astros or Rockets game.

Just never forget the “The” or you’ll be exiled to Humble.

My only experience is going there for a concert at the amphitheater, but it sounds like a Texas sized Mandeville. Long commute, hot milfs on a first name basis with their plastic surgeon, good public schools, etc.

If Mandeville/the Northshore is a QT gas station, The Woodlands is a Buccees

Been here about a decade so if you have any specific questions just lemme know. Plenty of good food, good golf, the bar scene has improved tremendously since I first got here, and several breweries in the vicinity. Good place to be if you’re active with the walking paths everywhere and several run and bike groups based here.

ETA after your latest post-
Second the BabyTac rec of joining somewhere. Carlton Woods, Woodlands CC, and Woodforest are the top of the line ones in the area. I’m out at Windcrest and there are a ton of Tiger fans over there. Highland Pines is the best public course in the area. You can join there and get membership that includes Augusta Pines and another course as well

Moved to The Woodlands 15 years ago and worked in different parts of Houston during that time. Now actively job searching for opportunities inside the bubble (CPA with mostly oil & gas Controller experience).

There are a lot of companies headquartered here and I probably just need to increase the efforts. I like Houston but would love being able to spend 98% of time in TW.

Very nice subdivision.
Houses a little too close together for me.
