Snake Farm is a criminal organization and they would have been indicted in the Katrina litigation if Schruggs had not fricked everything up.
They were rewriting Engineer Reports, charging different prices for same material in flood cases versus wind policies, using captive groups to commit fraud efc etc

Yes I read your post. Insurance companies use adjusters, not roofers. The insured selects who they want to do the repairs or reroof
I know the difference between an adjuster and a roofer. The adjuster was the guy who decided to pay for the new roof. The insurance agent sent out a roofer who told my elderly mother that my roofer didn’t know what he was talking about there was no hail damage and not to file a claim.
Get it?? This thread is about sleazy professionals and I’m giving an example of two.

Hoss, I’m a State Farm agent. We don’t do that. As a matter of fact, it’s illegal for me to pick a roofer and send them to a customers house.
I know you guys think everyone is out to frick you over, but that’s not the case.

Hoss, one of your agents in MS 1000% did exactly that. I didn’t dream this or make it up. This particular agent had insured my parents for years. The guy died and the agency was transferred, sold, or bequeathed to someone else. The new guy tried his hardest to keep my Mom from filing the claim.
Sorry to burst your bubble but not all State Farm agents are angels.
PS. When I was dealing with the 1-800 number State Farm people I informed them of this guys shenanigans. I don’t know if they pursued the issue bc we dropped them. I didn’t know it was illegal, if I had I would have reported to the insurance commissioner or AG or where ever you report insurance fraud.

LOL
For openers appraisers are hired by banks, has little to do with agents. Most of the time I don’t even see them.
Ever think having a good network of these others provide a value add to my clients? I can tell you of a very specific instance that a client of mine beat out 5 other offers on a home (we had the 2nd highest bid) because I was able to get an inspector I regularly work with to do an inspection after hrs the next day, while the rest of the bids had a 2 week inspection period attached.

The same thing has gone on in Florida post-Ian with another insurance company.
I've never seen a profession/industry work so hard to be so shitty whilst working so hard to convince people that they aren't so shitty.

It always amazes me how accurate insurance info and advice here on the OT is always downvoted and argued. People here are idiots. They always think they know better.

quote:Yeah that’s the unfortunate part of their business model. The newer agents they push push push to sell more and help file less claims. The people who have been around 5+ years usually tell corporate to frick off because they are under contract to sell their services. The first 2 years as a new agent, they have you under a temporary contract before they will give you a “permanent” contract. You have to have certain metrics to get that permanent contract. And it causes situations like yours.
