The fckin harmonic balancer "failed." I've never even heard of that happening on a car.
Ive heard of it on classic cars where the rubber piece of the balancer dry rots. But that normally gets replaced when you rebuild. Never heard of it on a new vehicle.

I've had 2 BMWs and will never buy another one. They're unreliable piles of plastic that are fun to drive.

Pfff.
I took my F150 in May and didn’t get it back until August in 2021. Audubon Ford Baton Rouge. Under warranty. They had no loaner car the entire time and cost my company well over $6000 for a rental truck during those 3 months.

Have you tried Wedge Kyes?
He's serviced my German cars for over 20 years.

I brought my BMW to have cooling system serviced and the service person tells me that their is a 72 car wait to get BMW looked at at Brian Harris.
PS: I thought BMWs were the ultimate DRIVING machines, not the ultimate anal rape tool.
Sounds like I was misinformed.

My little brother is a car salesmen and the dealership he works for couldn't even figure out he had a failed coil pack on a week's time. They replaced spark plugs, injectors, etc..and still wasn't fixed.
Called our Uncle Baw and he fixed it in 10 minutes.
This nation is screwed.

That it may take 5-7 days before they can even look at it. I have never heard of this. Is Brian Harris having problems? Any recommendations to getting AC fixed?
Bought a 2011 BMW (I'm poor) that only came with one key. Can only get new key from the dealer unless you hack the computer. Drove to Brian Harris on a Saturday, paid for key, was told it would come in some time around Tuesday (North American headquarters sends the key to dealer already programmed). This was early April. Key doesn't arrive, they tell me the metal blade is in but the remote transmitter part is on backorder and they have no idea when it's coming. Call periodically only to be told it's not in, no idea when it'll get here, we'll call you when it does. Finally get fed up and drive over there this weekend to at least get my blade. Parts lady comes from the back with the blade AND remote. They had the remote for 3 weeks and never called me. You can't depend on people to do their jobs....

my son's gf has a mini. The fckin harmonic balancer "failed." I've never even heard of that happening on a car. Apparently it's a common occurrence on minis. I talked him through getting the inner fender removed so he can get to it. It has torqx screws in it. Wtf? And they are so rusty there's absolutely no way id even try to get them to turn without some heat and even then I think the snap off in the block. If he can find someone to remove it, a new one is $400. For a crankshaft pulley. frick BMW
Sucks to be you. My EV doesn’t have a harmonic balancer.

BTW, don't wreck a vehicle any time soon. You'll be waiting on parts for 3-4 months.
Try Vinnie's or Moberly's in the Industriplex. Both are very knowledgeable.

If the car isn't under warranty this is the answer in BR unless we were talking about mods.

Put some freon in it. Unless it's a failed part and just a leak that'll hold you

I had to use my government purchasing connection to get a drive train for my f150. As far as BMW goes, anything German will be an absolute pain for parts now and in the future.
