I brought my BMW to have cooling system serviced and the service person tells me that their is a 72 car wait to get BMW looked at at Brian Harris. That it may take 5-7 days before they can even look at it. I have never heard of this. Is Brian Harris having problems? Any recommendations to getting AC fixed?

Sounds like they have the opposite of problems.. they have more business than they can handle.

This is what happens when you tell the largest generation that it’s college or bust.

Unfortunately we’ve told kids they have to be doctors and lawyers or else they are failures. Now every industry is plagued with not enough people replacing those who are retiring.

I've had a few dealerships tell me over a month to get in the shop recently.

They don’t have enough skilled employees to handle the demand.

my son's gf has a mini. The fckin harmonic balancer "failed." I've never even heard of that happening on a car. Apparently it's a common occurrence on minis. I talked him through getting the inner fender removed so he can get to it. It has torqx screws in it. Wtf? And they are so rusty there's absolutely no way id even try to get them to turn without some heat and even then I think the snap off in the block. If he can find someone to remove it, a new one is $400. For a crankshaft pulley. frick BMW

Brian Harris is the worst. A friend had a crate engine bought from them and it needed the lash set in 2 cylinders. He figured instead of doing it himself, he'd have them do it since it was under warranty. The service dept. told him the person who "specializes" in that work has a 3 month backlog.
Guess they had a shortage of 5/8" sockets and personnel who know the basics.

I talked to a service guy today. He said it can still take over a month to get some parts. Supply chain is still an issue.

If it's not under warranty, going to a dealer is a fool's move.

There are probably multiple reputable indie shops that could the work cheaper and more timely.
