They are tired of the youth movement already?

Suns stacked. Ishbia makes Gayle look like a third world team owner

All these years later lemon head gets to follow his heart. How sweet.

Fertita maybe the worst owner in sports. Total moron

Eric finally gets to fulfill his heart

Durant, Booker and Beal all miss huge chunks of games every season, behind those 3 they have Ayton and nothing but minimum contract guys.
That team is doing nothing, and if they have their regular injury riddled seasons they won’t even make the playoffs.

quote:The Brooks contract is a declining salary structure. It’s front-loaded on these years when they just need to spend money and it doesn’t matter, and the back end of the contract is much smaller. It was also a sign and trade which generated nearly $15 million in more cap space to sign someone else or use in trades.
This Brooks deal is frickin absurd lol.
It’s not a bad deal for the team at all when you look past the surface.
Same with VanVleet. 3rd year team option.

We now have a full 15 man roster and are -8.3mil into the tax. So our tax bill right now would be around 11-12mil. Temple and Kira definitely have to be gone soon.
This would leave 1 open roster spot for another center. Robbins/ Matkovich or if we somehow trade for someone.

This board's favorite bloggers/twitterers are making a lot of noise about Jarret Allen right now. It's almost like they think there's a chance Gayle OKs the tax if she hears enough rumbling from the fans.

Not trying to freak people out, but the Pelicans haven't signed Hawkins to a deal yet. He can put lumped into any Jarrett Allen deal and help them save money with regards to the tax. Example - JV, Kira, Hawkins outgoing is roughly $25.4M outgoing, Jarrett Allen makes $20M

Michael McNamara @GriffinPresser 2h
I told you Hawkins the morning of the draft. I told you about the Herb Jones option. I told you about Zeller.
I am telling you now, the two plays on the table are: Roll with Jonas if she won't pay the tax. Upgrade at center if she will. You want to win - hit up Gayle!

I think upgrading and paying the tax is a possibility. I don’t think we include Hawkins in any of those deals. Not with the extra shooting help he could provide.

They’ve held an introductory press conference already, they’re not putting him in any deals.
We usually don’t sign our draft picks until after summer league IIRC

Replace Hawkins with temple and the team will buy him out or waive him.

Yeah, that wasnt known when I posted that in this thread. I actually posted about the declining structure on the more sports board today when I heard about it.

/insert it's just dumb gif
As for the McNamara stuff, all of that was decent bets, and the tax thing isn't really saying anything at all.

I swear shamit loves trade theories. This guy can’t help himself. Embarrassing to have this guy rep the pelicans press.

It's just a classic Mac hedge where he can be right regardless of the outcome.

You guys are missing the point. Allen/Capella whoever isn't the point, trying to rile up a rebellion to pay the tax by both of them at the same time is kind of new. I can't imagine Lauscha/Benson being swayed by fans on twitter, but this feels more like a coordinated leak to me than those 2 decided to get up on the same soap box at the same time.
