You mean 5 bucks on Wednesday and you get a punch card so the 10th is free? Oh damn, that was 25 years ago. Good times, better metabolism.
When I got my first real job in the early 90s Mr Gattis was on my rotation of lunch spots. I took lunch at 1 to miss much of the rush and would go and sit in one of the back rooms and read the paper. It was acceptable pizza when hot (great for the price) and they would make you what you wanted. I always had my punch card in my wallet.
I hadn't been in one in almost 20 years but in I think '19 we were in BR staying with my BIL and his wife and I took him to get a cast cut off near OLOL and when I say Gattis I ask if he wanted to get pizza after the appointment. he hadn't eaten there in years either but we both agreed it was the exact same food we remembered which is rare.
Decent enough food especially for the price and some variety if someone doesn't just want pizza.

I grew up in Broadmoor and went to the one around the corner at Florida and Cora. I liked it then and still like it now. I get the Sampler take and bake now. Had one recently. Very good.

Mr Gatti’s on Florida was the GOAT back in the day. I still love going. It was kind of bittersweet when they remodeled Essen. I miss the old style but the new style is definitely an improvement.

Don’t sleep on Sicily’s Pizza on Monterrey at Florida Blvd.

Gattis and Sicily’s were the best. Pepperoni’s was the go-to buffet in the mid-late 90s.

My first job in high school was slinging za's at that Gattis on Essen. Honestly wasn't a bad job. Still go there from time to time. My fam preferred CC's but that was just a rubbish gattis.

We go Monday’s cause kids eat free. The pizza is very meh, definitely not my fav. But you can’t beat a pizza buffet.
But the thing that gets me on Mondays with the kids eat free is they never have basic frickin pizzas on the line- like cheese & pep. There will be 7 supremes & 3 other pizzas with random meats & veggies but nothing kid friendly. They’re good about making whatever you request but wouldn’t you have the basics out there already?

I remember Godfather's being on the north-side of Florida, close to Cortana, in the 2 story business plaza. Gatti's, on Florida, was across the side street that turned into the shopping center that had the ??Broadway Theater?? and Pancho's.

That was Sicilys in the two story shopping center. Godfathers was down on the south side of Florida near Broadmoor Plantation apartments. Between Sharp and Mcgehee

The Sampler is great. Okay, it’s not great. Maybe not even good. But the green olives and what not are pure nostalgia. Watched a lot of games on the “big screen TVs” on Lake Street and Essen. Now we all have TVs at least that big.

The cinnamon pizza is the best thing they have
Their S'mores pizza is where its at!
Decent pizza for the price, I enjoy probably more than others, pretty consistent. Very clean place now since the reno.

Great place to relax at lunch and have some pretty good pizza.

We use to go to Mr. Gatttis on Prospect Blvd in Houma after football practice. Bunch of hungry and stinky 11 and 12 year Olds would wipe that place out. They did have an 88" 22 pixle projection TV is.

Don't care what anyone else thinks about my opinion here, the Gatti's Sampler pizza is one of the best pizzas out there.
and their buffalo chicken and bbq chicken pizzas are great as well.
All the other pizzas are meh.
Anytime LSU played at home at 11 or 230, we'd go to Gattis after and without a doubt eat way more pizza than we paid for, and watch football. Good times.
