Watch People: is this Rolex worth the price?

Price is 3k, was looking at it due to the purple band as a future watch to wear to LSU games. I don't know much about this particular watch due to the manufacturer date on it and the type it is.

3K Rolex is never worth it. 15K to 40K is because it won't lose value.

What's crazy about this, and most people don't know it, is that you can change the band. But only big time watch fanatics know those type of detailed facts.

It is a 15010, probably from the early 80's. One thing to note before going any further is they are 34mm watches. Some consider them too small, others consider them wonderfully retro. They are basically a slightly smaller version of the Datejust of the period.
Without the bracelet the price is high IMO but not exorbitant if it comes from a trusted source with some sort of legitimate warranty.
