The Lion King could expand into a big, epic saga, like the Star Wars franchise. There's a lot of room to run if we can find the stories.

They are gonna suck each these properties dry one by one before they risk something original again.

Is creativity dead in Hollywood?

I guess they ran out of good ideas.

It's hard to imagine doing as poor a job as Disney has been doing whole owning such great IPs.

"How do we create a franchise that's review-bomb proof?"
"Well animals generally aren't gay or trans, and we can't be called out for swapping the races of main characters, so let's go with the Lion King!"

I’m sure they can find some Berkeley or CalArts creative writing grads. to fill those shoes. Green hair, a looped nose ring (one around the eye as well), dark mascara, with rolled up pajama bottoms and black boots.
Not sure what the girls will be wearing.

There are already 3 Lion King movies...

Maybe it would work as an animated franchise because of the expressive exaggerated cartoon faces/bodies that can emote, but live-action realistic talking-animals are empty/boring and require having a human supporting cast (like Babe) to help deliver the feels.

I mean shite, how many stories are you trying to find? You've already done:
I'd say that exactly two of those properties made money (LK and the 2019 remake). The rest were made for TV nonsense (although I did like 1.5 when it came out because it was a cool idea). But the fact that the only two to make any substantial money are the original and a shot-for-shot remake of the original sort of tells you that people don't want new stories...they like just the one.
Also, I had no idea there was a LK animated show/series (or maybe even two if the Around the World with Timon and Pumbaa is a show). I may see if my boy (3) would get into those.

The two halves of this sentence do not make sense.
Are there any other Norse legends that Shakespeare converted to a play that they can make CGI African animals depict on screen? Does “Hamlet” have a sequel?
