Is anyone desperate enough to offer that?

Anyone who pays him $59 Million per year needs to be fired. I cannot trust Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Marcus Smart. They're just a little better than the Houston Rockets with Harden. Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler know how to win. Even Lebron knows how to win. With that said, if Boston figures it out, they could be a dynasty......but they're not there yet...

Coaching matters at every level. Last season Boston was a defensive team on a level that was different since the Tatum/Brown union. But that team was reflecting Ime Udoka's brand of basketball. They looked different and they felt dangerous.

I wish the Wiz would trade Beal for him honestly.

Last year they were in the finals. This year they are 1 win away from the finals.
I don't see them letting him go. They will run it back.

You can't just move on and replace that money, so you're kind of stuck being "forced" to resign him. If you don't, you're almost guaranteed to be a worse team. So your best option is to sign him, then figure out as soon as you can if you can trade him.
Bit of a shitty situation....unless you're Jaylen Brown

Right, you just have to hope that your 60 million dollar player is Steph Curry, not Bradley Beal (as Bill Simmons put it the other day on his pod).
The way that the NBA in trending, essentially your best two players will be max level players, then you might get a ~20 million dollar player, and the rest of your team will split about 30 million dollars. It might go the way of the NFL where you almost have to attempt to win a championship while your QB (or young star in the NBA) is on their rookie deal.

under the new CBA you cant afford to pay a guy like 2nd best player when he plays like a 3rd best player

Jaylen Brown will and should be re-signed. Morons on this board dismiss that his right hand never healed and was bleeding every game from the vase he dropped days before the playoffs started.
He was the best player for the Celtics in the 2022 finals by a significant margin. He will be back and has yet to hit his prime.
