Couples say hotel reservations canceled days before weddings in order to house migrants

News 12 has learned that the Crossroads hotel is now canceling reservations to honor a contract with New York City to house 60 migrant men.
“We weren’t given any formal notice. We have not been treated with any respect and dignity in the situation," said Sean Plunkett, from Queens.
Plunkett and his fiancé, Nicole Hoefferle, booked 37 rooms last year at the Crossroads hotel in Newburgh for their wedding guests next weekend.
But now - those folks, some coming in on international flights in just days, have nowhere to stay.
”We got ahold of a manager, and she told us verbally that she canceled all the rooms in our block," said Plunkett.
The couple contacted the hotel by phone and email when they saw on News 12 that 60 migrant men arrived by bus Thursday under a contract with New York City.
The hotel knew about the migrant contract for at least a week, but the couple says no one ever reached out.
They’re not the only ones.
“They said there’s nothing we can do, that it’s on the mayor," said Deanna Misfud, from Orlando, Florida.
Mifsud and her fiancé, Gary Moretti, are coming to Newburgh next month from the state of Florida for their wedding and say they were also told their contract for 15 rooms is now canceled.
“It’s very unprofessional, and they only care about the money," said Misfud.
News 12 has confirmed with New York Air Show representatives that 40 rooms meant for pilots at the Crossroads hotel in June have also been canceled.
News 12 reached out to the hotel and was put on hold several times, hung up on and eventually given an 800 number to call for corporate relations.
News 12 called that number, but a representative said there’s no one to contact for media inquiries.
“I have never felt so discarded or set aside in my entire life," said Plunkett.
New York City says the migrant men could be housed at the Crossroads hotel for four months
Why is it always males, and very little women and children?

They said as they prepared to vote for an establishment party candidate for the 100th time.

I wonder how much more the state/feds/whoever are paying for these rooms with our tax money?
Democrats will always put illegals before Americans. Just how it is now. These are future Democrat voters and likely foot soldiers (no women and kids?).
Keep voting for Progressives! Your country is almost gone!

Probably 10x standard rate and I'm not even joking
think of it like this - it was enough for the hotel to shut down an entire block worth of rooms with no notice

Don't try and get married in NYC. Don't even go to NYC.
I would say I feel bad for them, but at this point that's the risk you take trying to give these hellscapes your money. At some point people will just have to wake up and understand that these places hate you. If you assume the risk, plan to take the consequences. That's how life works.
Want to get married in North Korea? Maybe China? shite even Canada is on the list now. NYC and other liberal shitholes are no different.
Get married in a place that doesn't fricking suck.

They live in Florida, you have no idea how they vote but you somehow know this?

And those 2 probably voted for this

They can pay for this shite, but can't afford to fix potholes or keep bridges from falling down. Sounds about right.

This has been going on in south Texas for a good while. Hotels no longer have capacity for “real” visitors who will spend money locally, do seasonal work, etc. At the same time, local restaurants sign contracts to feed the illegals. The restaurants close their doors to walk-in diners and spend all their time preparing and delivering meals to the hotels. Taxpayer dollars are used to fund contracts that are too good to turn down and those same taxpayers are negatively impacted on multiple levels.

Newburgh is upstate NY

I hope more of this keeps happening. I happened across an "ask me anything" thread on Reddit earlier by a border reporter for Reuters. It was surprisingly almost right leaning. That's huge for communist Reddit. More people in the country are experiencing what the south has been dealing with forever. They need more punishment, California and Arizona need to join in in sending all of the title 42 crossers north.

No it isn't. It's in Orange county, south of Poughkeepsie. That's not Upstate NY.

These states are deliberately doing things in a way to cause as much trouble as possible. You can't tell me there weren't better options than putting paying customers out of nice hotels. Then they'll point fingers at Greg Abbott and other Republicans and blame them.

Why is everyone assuming this couple voted for this or are Democrats?
