Based on your lack of addressing any of my points directly, I am going to assume we are in agreement.

I mean sure, until all your weapons start breaking, and your bows start breaking.
They don't have THAT much HP.

most nintendo fans have a hard time dealing with legit critiques, it's fine
I like the weapons system in this game better than BotW but I still hate dealing with it, the newness has worn off and I'm back to ".......ugh.........ok, what do I fuse now?"

That said, while TotK does almost everything bigger and better than BotW, it is absolutely a retread. The plot is virtually identical to BotW. It's a relatively minimalist story which involves you assisting the different civilizations in Hyrule (Goron, Zora, etc) with some problem to unlock a power that will assist with finding Zelda. The real meat of the story is still told through flashbacks.
You aren't necessarily wrong, as sometimes I feel some things are too similar, but it is a sequel. And like most sequels it takes things from the original and improves on it. I do think the plot is different however, especially when you consider in botw you knew exactly where to go to rescue Zelda and fight the final boss.
I still have no idea where this will end up and I'm probably dozens of hours into it.

So maybe I missed this, and I've taken a few days off from the game, but to fuse an item to your weapon that you currently have in your inventory, do you have to drop it first and THEN fuse, or can you do it directly from the menu like how you do with the arrows?

I asked the same question earlier. I think it's just the one option, which is frustrating. Fusing arrows works so well. It makes it hard to believe this is the only way to do it. I have to be doing something wrong.
I do agree with you. I absolutely love the game, but fusing has become more of a hassle than cool the more I get into the game.

That’s my main complaint about TOTK. The weapon fusing could use some adjustment. Also, the new dupe glitch is ridiculous. I can’t use it anymore or this game will get boring. I ran into that issue modding Stardew.

Yeah I regret it. The new one is basically game-breaking. You can easily dupe 20+ items in one little paraglide sequence.

Just checked my hours played, 65... I've stayed up way too late many days playing. Haven't looked at a single tip, spoiler, or any help pages. Having so many puzzles has been really fun. Some of the regional bosses were easy, one was really difficult for me.
This is fun!

For real?
In fairness, once I got to the actual Water Temple, I didn't realize there was a fast travel point at the main interface for the Temple quest itself.
Not until I cleared it. #Doh
One pleasant surprise is that some regions (I assume all of them) have a lady walking around who will not only tell you about gear squirreled away in some of the caves, she marked 3 of the locations on my map. That was awesome.
Met her near one of the stables. Central Hyrule, IIRC. I figured she was going to be Yiga.

10 days in, I'm still enjoying that part. It's a lot of fun to save a good weapon for boss fights and then put a Black monster horn on it for crazy damage.

IGN - 9 MORE Things to Do First in TotK
No major spoilers that I'm aware of, but they preface these are a good place to begin once you've completed your first Temple, whichever that is.

That is a useful video, thanks.
One thing I've found that has helped tremendously with food and weapons, the amiibo. I get enough weapons and food each day that I'm never really scrambling for either. Also got some really useful armor as well.

I think I have some Amiibos still in the box. Maybe the Skyward Sword bird and matching Zelda. I have the 8-bit Link that's open. May need to track that down.

You get food drops even if they aren't Zelda related

Oh shite, I'm about to clean up on Animal Crossing ones, then. We have about 300 of the mini cards from Amazon.

just fyi if you don't already know, but you can buy a pack of the nfc chips for really cheap (like $10 or $15 bucks) and use a free program to make any amiibo.
Tagmo is the free app, and just look for NFC 215 round cards on amazon and you can find them for very cheap.
Lots of unique items you can only get from the amiibos

I feel that Nintendo operates with the philosophy of "let's not fix all of it or it will be the new standard". They revise a few thing, fanbase loses their mind, GREATEST GAME EVER, and we forget they are still making us jump through 20 other dumb hoops.
