Yeah, we picked up about 3/4 of the ACNH ones over the past few years. I'll give those a spin tomorrow. I'm constantly running out of food.
Is it like BOTW where you can scan each Amiibos once every 24H?

I just finished the fire temple. I’m at 8 hearts and two stamina bars. I realized my weapons are trash. Any tips for finding better weapons other than fusing them, or is that they way to go?

Depending on your preference of weapon type (1H sword, broadsword, spear, etc) my best results have come from fusing the better monster/construct horns onto those, instead of fusing other weapons to weapons.

I'm playing this on the steam deck at 60fps, runs surprisingly well

BTW, you only have a limited amount of time to pick up the items dropped by the Amiibos. I thought I'd be clever and generate a whole pile of stuff, including the chest that dropped from the 8-Bit Link. By the time I got to the Splatoon ones, almost half was gone.

I had a moment last night that I thought was funny. I was progressing through the story in Goron City. We get to a pivotal moment where my main Goron guy essentially says "Come with me, let's go save the day". I had already decided I was going to take someone else's advice and go do the newspaper/look for Zelda clues quest. I start to portal out and he says "You're leaving? Well, I guess I'll look for Zelda by myself until you get back." In my head, I was thinking Link's response would be "Sorry, man. I know this is a pressing issue, but I need to go travel to a bunch of stables with a pelican so I can make a bunch of fairies happy."

The skeleton arms are surprisingly strong one this game, like 22 before fusing.
I also ran into a boss inside a cave while treasure hunting that gave up a 60 sword. But I need to Google it before using as it has an effect I'm unsure of.

I found a Korok who's buddy was a ways down a hill. Looked like a clear shot and there was a small cart already premade so I attached the Korok to it and sent him on his way, planned on catching up with him to help him meet his friend.
I didn't know that it was ALL downhill and the little guy shot off into a ravine.
RIP

i had the bright idea to attach one to a rocket to get up a cliff thinking it would burn out quickly. think the korok is orbiting pluto at this point

Best weapon I've had so far was a Royal Claymore I found in the floating part of Hyrule Castle, fused with a black bokoblin boss horn.
It's attack power is somewhere in the 50-60 range, but right before it shatters its 'perk' increases the power to nearly 100.

Just did my first temple. Water. That was awesome. I don’t want this game to end.

Call me old fashioned, but when it comes to open world games, I like certain things to be made clear. Namely, where you go to upgrade your gear. The Witcher 3 has me trained to head for the nearest blacksmith or armorer for all my upgrade needs, while the soothing purple torchlight of Resident Evil 4's merchant is a one-stop beacon of organizational calm amid the chaos. Even the workbenches dotted across Dead Island 2 are a logical port of call. I know better than to expect a Zelda game to be that literal, of course, but I made my way through three-quarters of the main storyline before I met a Great Fairy and upgraded my armor.
Then this dude must not talk to people on the road because pretty much everyone in a mushroom outfit tells you pretty fricking clearly that fairies upgrade clothing.

Mother frickers don’t talk to NPCs in these games

Made it to the final dungeon. Probably need to spend some time padding hearts and amassing the appropriate armor and weaponry, because that shite is tough.

how long have you been on Nintendo's payroll?
