Which is why umpires have to now police it to prevent brawls from happening.

But the kid did nothing that warranted being thrown out. Like Project said, he was pointed towards his own dugout and took like two steps. The ump threw him out before he even got to the baseline.

There was nothing to “police.” There sure was nothing that was bordering on a brawl.

I'm no fan of UF either, though I know a great many. The video quality is not great, but it sure looks like the pitcher grabbed his crotch.

He may be suspended for four games, which strikes me as gross overkill.

And let’s be honest, they talked shite back then, just didn’t have as much exposure as they do now.

I agree that there were isolated incidents, but not the choreographed home run celebrations with Daddy Coats, Boom Boxes, Turnover Chains, etc. And every single strikeout didn’t induce a stare down.

Welcome to the new age. Let them have their fun. If the players like it and recruits like it, let them do it.

Y’all keep saying this as if the only way to have fun playing baseball is to be an a-hole to the other team.

Parents teach their kids how to have good manners and how to not run around with knives in their hands even though it’s “fun”.

Coaches are supposed to teach their team how to play with intensity while still showing respect for your opponent.

Your definition of “disrespect” is laughable. Props for celebrating and stare downs aren't that bad. But if it bothers you so much, stop watching. Because it’s not going anywhere anytime soon

Every college kid, and now high school kid, trying to flex on the other team is getting old. All of this really just started about 10 years ago.

I didn't take his celebration to be an ahole at the other team, but that's just me. I don't get offended over celebrations. I also don't care about the fun argument, but I think players should be allowed to show some passion and celebrate big plays. I appreciate those that don't celebrate, but the others absolutely don't bother me.

PS minor correction -it was Jim Finks who told that to Dalton also told him if he counted to three after crossing into the end zone he would give him $100. If you watch old games you can see Dalton counting. It was a source of fun at Saints camp.
