I have not been since 2020. Spent long weekend last weekend.

Smell of weed is EVERYWHERE. Zero police presence. Black kids riding 4 wheelers down middle of Canal. Food quality is definitely taken a turn downward.

What a shame

I was also there last weekend...everything I had at Peche Friday night was outstanding as usual.

Must’ve gone to a lot of wrong places. Your post is super specific though so who could say.

Yeah, something tells me he's not eating at anything other than tourist traps in the Quarter.

Not to discount some of his complaints about Nola though as some things are of course frustrating as all hell about the city.

I am guessing Daisy Dukes, Oceania and waiting in line at Mothers was disappointing to him.

I can vouch for this 100%

Based on the downvotes a lot of bleeding heart NOLA-ites have their head in the sand

Meh. Tell us something we don’t know about the issues in the city. We are well aware. Just having light hearted fun with the OP

Sounds like you were hanging around the French Quarter, you should probably have stayed Uptown. Last time I was in town, I didn't experience any of the things you are describing

ETA: There are definitely shitty things about the city, but those can usually be avoided if you're only going for a weekend.

Funny you posted in another thread asking questions and said you are a frequent visitor.

Nothing implausible about any of this.

I disagree with one thing. The food quality is still exceptional. That is why I continue to go in to the city.

Chicago, New York and Austin all smell like weed. Doesn’t really bother me. Violent crime is something that concerns me most.
