Yes, of course. Same in South Africa.

I knew a guy that fought as a mercenary in Rhodesia. (RIP Ole Son)
When he drank he would give some crumbs into the absolute horror that took place during that "war".
Another leftist failure.

Nothing was bad about it. It was a prime example of what a country on the African continent could be. Leftists didn’t like that though so they destroyed it and turned it into a third-world shithole.
Lol

I’ve heard that the rhodesians were elite soldiers, with many becoming members of delta and SAS after the fall of Rhodesia. Do you know if that’s true?

So how did they suppress the black vote in Rhodesia?

Your pathetic reply does nothing to refute what I said.
Fact 1: Rhodesia was a self sustaining, thriving and prosperous country.
Fact 2: Zimbabwe is a third-world shithole that’s a virtual basket case, one of the poorest countries on the planet, and totally dependent on foreign aid to survive.

Most went to England and were given credit for the time in service in Rhodesia if they joined the UK military. Some went to South Africa. I think most had seen enough and chose to do something else.

What was the difference between it and any other English colony? I know that the locals who took it back over were really nasty to the whites and killed most of them after they won in the 20th century
Colonization stopped working the way the Europeans executed it in America by the late 19th century. So by the 20th century, the English went into what is now Rhodesia more deliberately and carefully.
At first the new government established by the English was stable and the country was successful. But eventually the locals didn't like the white colonists having agricultural assets and companies. So they ran all of them off and gave their companies and land to the locals based on political connections rather than qualifications.
And now their output has collapsed.

A few US Vietnam veterans ended up in Rhodesia. IDK about any going the other way but I guess it's possible. If any did, it was probably into the British Army, not the American. Most of them went into the SADF or became mercenaries. Fun fact. Some of them, including some whites, stayed and joined the new Zimbabawe army. Mugabe also had a core of wealthy white farmers in his inner circle, despite his bellicose rhetoric against whites. Things were/are more complicated on the ground than most people realize. That's the way it usually is.

Seems like stealing peoples farms and giving them to the friends and families of the black politicians, who also had no farming experience, was not a great idea.
South Africa is trying its best to copy that stellar plan

A friend of mine grew up in Rhodesia before moving to South Africa then finally the US. I've talked to her father who fought in the Rhodesian army. He's never gotten too detailed but he's definitely seen some horrors.
My friend and I traveled to Zimbabwe and South Africa about 10 years ago. It was her first and probably only time going back. It was pretty cool to see both countries and have her perspective. Definitely sad to see what has become of Zimbabwe. The people that I encountered were all welcoming but it was around election time and I recall news reports of groups of people that opposed Mugabe going missing.
Edit: We went into a grocery store and it was 90% empty shelves with just a few random items like expensive cheese and bags of salt.

Zimbabwe's GDP doubled in the first years of Mugabe's rule. The fact of the matter was that the British would not allow for Rhodesian independence, and describing the British Empire as some leftist entity is fricking idiotic.

Of course, you aren't interested in the 'why' here, as Zimbabwe was relatively stable until the Second Congo War, which was part of the reason for land expropriation that started in 2000. After the coup in 2017, Zimbabwe's GDP again doubled, leading it to being middle of the pack in Africa (18th in nominal GDP) and around 100 in the world.
