What was the difference between it and any other English colony? I know that the locals who took it back over were really nasty to the whites and killed most of them after they won in the 20th century

Nothing was bad about it. It was a prime example of what a country on the African continent could be. Leftists didn’t like that though so they destroyed it and turned it into a third-world shithole.

First, they did not kill most of the whites. Far from it. Second you have a white minority that denied blacks their voting rights. I mean you cannot have a country especially a former African Colony be a county with white minority rule.

We need a white supremacy board for threads like this.
Rhodesia was actually a white supremacist regime, as a primary feature of its law.

Great book detailing the downfall.

The entire continent will be a Chinese territory soon, anyway.

The breadbasket of Africa. Richest country in the continent with the highest standard of living. That is the answer to your question.

Rhodesia was a shining jewel in Africa. It was a thriving country, called the breadbasket of Africa. Their farming was world renowned.
The people were fierce and brave. Then the commies came in and stirred up part of the population with falsehoods and empty promises, demonizing the Rhodesians.
The world abandoned them, but they held out, as long as they could. But with communist and globalist backing, the fall was inevitable and the horrors visited thereafter make me shudder.
Some memes to help

Ah. Did the soviets help overthrow it?

The breadbasket of Africa... when white people were in charge. Now it's nothing.

Was it an apartheid regime that made South Africa look progressive by comparison? Yes.
Did Mugabe and his crew run it into the ground after they took over? Also yes.
Cecil Rhodes got crossways with the Boers in South Africa so he basically decided to go out and start his own country.

The vast majority of white people in Rhodesia were of English descent. There were many Rhodesians of Dutch descent, but all white Rhodesians were not “boers”.

Fair point. They were Rhodesians. I'll edit.
