I mean this has been floated as an 'idea' since Bill Clinton was in office. As 'woke' as our Federal Govt is becoming I wouldn't be shocked at them taxing existing 401k or IRA balances annually no matter your age to 'help' poor people. That shouldn't be shocking to anyone that has been paying attention to Biden Administration.

What policies are democrats going to enact to bring jobs back to areas like the ms delta?

Where did I say Democrats need to inact these?

Foreign companies have killed areas like those over the years.

No politicians killed those.

If I were in the area I'd start building food processing plant, factories related to food production, distribution centers etc. related to the products grown there. We have to grow our food somewhere so why not build infrastructure to sustain that?

And the gov’t has never “fixed” any sort of “inequality” by reducing social spending.

That's because they've never really reduced social spending. It's only grown.

Don’t take a victory lap yet, you still haven’t offered anything specific.

More specific than what I just just stated? I didn't know I would be required to lay out a full policy plan for people to get the gist of what I was saying. It should be inferred. Isn't that what most people did on here based on the video. Just using the same logic applied.

Hell…. Does half of white Americans have enough? If you have 100k total in your 50’s… you don’t have enough but you are ahead of a high percentage of Americans.

Can you “retire” if you never actually worked?

You must differentiate between equality (the old), and equity (the new & improved) which is the "outcome based" agenda.
Both are total BS, regardless.

A lot of Americans don’t have enough to retire regardless of race.

Pushing for legislation to address inequality doesn't mean they are coming for your 401k. It more than likely means addressing it beforehand so they will have some retirement.

Yes, because you inserted yours as the contrarian opinion, so you’re going to be pressed to defend it.

You said they aren’t coming for 401s even though Dems have tried to before and now they’re very keen on taxing unrealized gains.

You said it would be achieved with legislation that promotes wealth generation then you offer cuts in social spending — something we all know will never happen.

So you’ve offered nothing other than to say they aren’t coming for 401s and they ostensibly mean some other unicorn legislation never before seen in this country that won’t be wealth redistribution, oh, AND couples with cuts to social spending…

Have I adequately captured your stance, or have I gone astray somewhere?

You wouldn’t know if based on all the Cadillac’s and fine threads at black churches on Sunday morning. It’s like Easter every Sunday.

It is more probable that the so called unicorn legislation is possible than actually coming for 401s. You have to take into account social dynamics and changing demographics.

You are referencing things that "Dems have tried before" so you're basing your assertions on past actions. If I were to do the same I'd say they will never come for the 401s because then they can't keep promising things. If wealth redistribution is done in that way then over time people will realize that Dem polices are not good to maintain/build wealth and will at some point begin to vote the same people out of office who enacted the redistribution. We know the Dems are power hungry and will never do that. They lose their leverage to apply identity politics. I'd say the 401k idea is the real unicorn.

I can't help but think that this is the next big thing in the wealth redistribution crowd.

They will tell us that people can't save for retirement on minimum wage and that SS is not enough to retire on.
