Somebody left some here at work. I used some and it tastes like regular salt.

Some may claim it has a better overall mineral profile or something.

To me, it has a more subtle saltiness than other salts. I like it as a table salt for that reason. Still cook with sea or kosher salt.

I like the look and the texture.

I use Malden sea salt flakes, and pink Himalayan in the grinder.

Its SodiumChloride. An explosive metal and a poisonous gas.

Of course it tastes good

The health food gurus swear it has more minerals than regular salt.

Research has not shown that Himalayan salt has any unique health benefits compared to other dietary salt. The mineral impurities that give it a pink color, often promoted as healthful, are far too low in concentration to help with your nutrition. You would have to eat a lethal amount of sodium to achieve helpful quantities of the other minerals

A tablespoon of that in 20oz of water before a long run.

Flame away…

I use it and haven't noticed a big difference. I was using smoked salt for a while and noticed a small difference in taste, but not much. It's all about the same. Then again, I don't 100% know what iodized means either.

I wouldn't use it. It appears that that stuff has more lead in it than would otherwise be found in more common salts.
