Not sure why BMX hasn’t cancelled the warning for Marion yet.

ETA: and they cancelled it as soon as I posted that.

Can’t say I’ve watched many hailstorms on radar (or IRL) but this thing is persistent. Derby got shat on.

Tomorrow’s Ark-La-Tex set up reminds me of 4/27/14. I don’t know if it mirrors it meteorologically. But from a forecasted severity standpoint, it reminds me.

They canceled the BAFB air show for that day and the atmosphere seemed as prime as I’ve ever experienced. All it needed was one cell to fire. Fortunately the only one that did fired late (near midnight) and produced a tornado near plain dealing.

That day was on the razors edge between bust and Wikipedia. It seems like tomorrow could end up there as well. And it seems like it may depend on any CAPE reducing storms early in the forecast period.

That's out there where they grow hailstones like nowhere else.

Is gorilla hail an accepted term now?

What do people here think of Reed?

I respect Reed. I haven't always liked Reed. When I came to the understanding that he is right where he wants to be more than anywhere else on earth, I began to like and respect him. He has the meteorological chops to back up his decision making. He can work the hell out of a radar, and could have a legitimate spot in pretty much any other segment of the field he wanted.
