The final ride of Uhtred of Bebbanburg. And what a ride it has been. Season one of the show started in the year AD 866 and the events that are being covered by this film after the conclusion of the series take place in the year AD 934. So Uhtred has been in his prime for the past 68 years.

I see they’re sticking with the “let’s just not age the main cast and hope people don’t care” route.
For the non book readers, old Uhtred is basically narrating all of the books like he’s telling a story. He makes a lot of side comments about his current life and is hilarious.
He has another wife he barely knows and can’t really stand, he makes fun of the singers and priests, etc.

Decent link for the timeline here.
Season One: 866 – 878
Season Two: 878 – 886
Season Three: 893 – 900
Season Four: 905?

The author of the Saxon Stories (the novel series on which The Last Kingdom is based) told History Extra that he has plans to conclude the saga in 937 at the Battle of Brunanburh, the historical battle that marked the beginning of England.
Using the timeline here, that would bring Uhtred to the ripe old age of 83, by which point he’ll still look like a dashing thirty-something no doubt.

Don't worry. He as reincarnated as an a-hole Targaryen in Westeros.

I knew they were going to do a movie but I’m surprised it’s done this soon. They must have jumped into it pretty quick after finishing the final season.

I’m going to have to rewatch this show before this drops as I’ve forgotten much of what happened

The books took that route also. Yeah Uhtred would sometimes talk about being old…as he stands in the shield wall killing 25 year old men in combat.
