I spent exactly $80. The highest priced thing was the MOTU horse. It was $15, I overpaid.
I’ve yet to look up the 83 Transformers. They are little pull back vehicles. They were $8 each.

81 program

Old napkins (already sold)

Magazines

Super Balls and mables

80’s Style Auto jacket ($5)

And my (possibly) major homerun:

1982 Holmes/Cooney program with a surprise inside, a ticket stub. Nose bleed tickets back then were $300

Funny thing, the only people I saw buying the spank mags were women.

You actually went out to a garage sale in this pouring rain?

Did it feel weird walking around that house? Premonition of a certain future estate sale?

I was hoping the storm would keep them back. Not so much. I had to work until 4pm. The sale started at 4:30. I got there at 5:15, I was #132 in line. Granted, 75+ people had already gone in. I got in about 5:45

Hawk's Nest as in the resturant off of Sherwood? I used to work in the building right across the street from there. We had half the 2nd floor and the 3rd and half the 4th.. I remember Home Depot used to have a call center in there and the characters that used to work for them..

Anyway, but before moving buildings we used to go there once a week.

I kind of dig the jacket. I understand the collectible value or appeal of all things posted except the super balls/marbles lot. Is there really a secondary market for superballs? I guess the marbles could be antique or something. Do old marbles have manufacturer markings, or do you check to see if actually made of real marble to determine if antique?

Yes, the owner passed away. The sale was at his house off O’Neal.

So the restaurant is no longer open? Or did he sell it or something?

They also produced their catalogs there. Worked there maybe 3 months, went to the Nest almost every day. Cold arse beer…

Also the cafe in that building made a kickass breakfast .
