Tell me you weren’t around in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s without telling me you weren’t around then.

If Dale Brown is your bar for excellence, then the bar is pretty low. He was a mediocre-at-best head basketball coach.

So where is the court located... inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center??? How many National Championships did Pete win? Yet they named a bldg after him.

I see what you're saying, but it you upset because Dale didn't win a natty but has his name on the court... the same could be said about Pete.

I am of the mindset that the Court should not be named after any Coach right now. shite if Kim Mulkey ends up winning 2 Championships here are we going to rename the Court to include her? So its a 3 Coach named Court? Stupid.

except, you know, pete is considered an all time great (not an lsu all time great, all of basketball) in the sport. People know who pistol was.

For you guys that were around, can you share a YouTube link or some type of video of the National Championship Dale Brown won? A newspaper clipping would work just fine too.

I’ll go with neither.

Look, i have NO ISSUES with the bldg named after Pete... or Shaq or TDs. All i am doing is pointing out that, how can someone say that naming a court after someone that didn't win a title(assuming national national championship) is embarrassing..... when the bldg that holds that court is named after someone that didn't win one.

So it should be named harry Rabenhorst. If you talk sustained success then dale should have his name on the court. Basketball success is completely different than kentucky Kansas unc etc.

I would guess that most of the negative comments on here about Dale Brown are from people who were not around in the 1970's to witness the emergence of LSU basketball into a national contender under Dale Brown. Why all the hate???

I took 7 - loved every minute - tell the kids I took the scenic route - f'ing computer science....got graduate and undergraduate degree same day

eta - went to all of dale's camps and hung out with shaq and vernel waiting for pizza at kirby smith - don't care about shaq's tourney record - dale was right to tell him to leave early because he would never get a fair shake in college

It was pure Louisiana political bull shite.

100 percent. Ironically, it has ALWAYS been Louisiana politicians that have kept LSU from jumping to the next level nationally in all sports with political coaching hires. It’s been the bane of LSU. The good o’ boys.

All courts dedicated to coaches who never won a national championship.

Coaching 2 final 4s might be good as it gets for MBB, I guess Pokey's 3 would get her name in except for "scandal" stuff
Maybe CKM's name on it in near future.
ETA CMM to CKM
