To me the biggest surprise in the 3 years with Shaq was highest seed we had was 6. That's really unbelievable. I bring that up because they always faced a good team in the second round...and lost of course

Yes... and that number is ZERO. And before the dumbasses come out the wood work, i know what he did for LSU and LSU basketball and so forth. What I'm saying is... the OP brought up that a court named after someone that never won a Championship, can be applied to the same view as naming a bldg in that same manner.

Auburn naming their field after Gene Chizik

Fixed it for you

No. Chizik won a natty.Brown never even got to the championship game. Les Miles got there twice and won one. Ridiculous to put Brown’s name on that court. Might as well hang a banner saying “We are Betas”.

Witnessed that great coaching on Mardi Gras 1994 when LSU blew a 68-37 lead against Kentucky and lost 99-95.

Like Bobby Knight would say when LSU would play Indiana that he thought game was over no way to come back but when he realized he was coaching against Dale he knew there was always a chance to come back and win the game.

Is that the same game?

Pretty sure UK was 94 and Pitino.

I know Bobby Knight gets a lot of love on here, but that dude is/was a POS.

Dale Brown was mediocre. Pete Maravich wasn’t.

Bobby was 3 time National Champion (1976, 1981, and 1987). Beat LSU in 1981 Final Four and Elite Eight in 1987. Dale Brown's kryptonite.

The PMAC wAs the building that Pete built. Before Pete came to LSU there May have been 500 fans in the stands. When Pete playing and word got around of his playing ability on the court fans started filling the old cow palace up. That is why they call it the building Pete built “PMAC”.

I understand that.

He got away with a lot of shite. Be honest here.

Throwing chairs, chocking players, etc. I'm a basketball Mr. Dan. Very long time. My pops (RIP) was a Bobby fan. He was one the most intelligent and wise persons, but this is how I disagreed with him.

Don’t forget his 1992 final four team knocked out LSU in Shaq’s final season. Knight was always getting in LSU’s way. LSU should have won in 1987 though. Knight should have been ejected.

If you want to compare, what LSU basketball prior to Brown. Its like LSU baseball prior to Bertman.

Holy shite. This is hilarious. Do we really need to compare the state of the programs during Brown/Bertman's tenure as well as how they left it? I can count FIVE solid reasons why you can't compare Dale Brown to Skip.

Heres a list of people LSU athletic facilities or statues have been named after. Tell me how many titles for LSU that they have won combined?

Alex Box
Dub Robinson
Carl Maddox
John Parker
Pete Maravich
Seimone Augustus
Shaq
Sue Gunter

And yet Dale Brown is the embarrassing one. because he didnt win a title?

I'd have no issue with a statue of Dale or some facility or room. But naming a court, stadium, or arena after someone is a big fricking deal. And Dale Brown wasn't a big enough deal to get that honor.

There are many courts named after coaches who have never won a natty.

Naming the court after Dale Brown is embarrassing at all times. What were they thinking?

Name it after an LSU great player, maybe Shaq or Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf or even Big Baby. Not Dale Brown, please

Who would you name it after, since Basketball has been mostly a loser throughout its history at LSU.
If a HC starts winning, the fans turn on him as if he was a Leper.

Folks wonder Louisiana is ranked so low in most things.
Fans won't support a winner for long.

Should've been Tiger Arena and Pete Maravich court.coaches come to lsu because they are paid, at least then, while players came to lsu because they wanted to be a tiger.
