Saw it in the theater.

It was awful. 2/10. Don’t recommend.

I enjoyed it for what it was - missed opportunity to bring back Jordan as BP - what with the multiverse angle.

the opening sequence hit me in the feels like the opening of Captain Marvel when they did the Stan Lee tribute.

I hate the way they've depicted Namor

THIS. As an old school comics fan, they shite ALL OVER the physical appearance and background of Namor the Sub-Mariner to make the character and MCEU more "inclusive", but via their totally changing the origin story of his people and his character, they made it completely WOKE... "ooh, evil white people colonizers in Latin America bad... bring disease and enslave the natives".

None of that crap had ANYTHING to do with the Namor of the comics, which goes all the way back to 1939.

I’m not as a big a hater on BP as most of this board but I didn’t catch this one in theaters.

Will be happy to watch on D+.

The only one I’m planning on seeing in theaters from here on out is GotGv3. I have no desire to keep it going.

I wasn’t stoked on what they did with the BP character, though it was a tough situation with Boseman’s passing.

Namor though and his kingdom were really cool.

Of course, this board will hate it. Can’t imagine why

About halfway through. It’s pretty good. Amazing the difference in movie quality when the people making it actually care about the IP.

You can tell the people who made the last Thor and Dr. Strange movies didn’t.

I started it late last night and didn't know it was so long. Just finished and I enjoyed it for what it was. I liked the homage for CB they did. Action sequences lacked a bit for me though.

Just finished.
A little bittersweet. They did a fantastic job with a send-off to CB.
I thought Namor worked well with the Mayan background.
The older actors were fantastic. The new iron(woman) was ok in theory, but rushed and not well written. Shuri was ok.. just not the next Black Panther.
Really enjoyed the visuals minus some bad underwater CGI.
Not sure how it all plays into the next MCU wave except the julia Lewis character doing some scheming.
I'd give it a 7/10 for a comic book movie.
But damn it was long. Glad I watched at home.

Watching it now and I can’t believe they’re going to try to base a whole series on the Riri character. She’s miserable.

I enjoyed this version of Namor. Granted, I am not committed to the comic book version of him.

Ironheart felt like she got a similar treatment to MCU spidey: show up in a big movie with a fancy suit, then revert back to "earning your stripes" in an origin story at a later date

It's not that the events and outcomes of explorations and colonization didn't happen... it's that it has NOTHING TO DO with the background, origin, and storyline of Namor/Sub-Mariner, and was completely, heavy-handedly FORCED into this movie as a virtue-signaling woke "message".

The history of Namor and Atlantis has ALWAYS been one of a totally different ancient undersea race (called Homo Mermanus) generally at odds with ALL surface dwelling humans (Homo Sapiens). Wakanda Forever's REINVENTION of the story changes it to the undersea race being descendants of ONLY a non-white surface world ethnicity, who were relatively recently and almost 'magically' created after negative impacts caused by whites.

The writers even hit Christianity in their messaging, with the priest telling Namor that he was a "devil", a 'child without love' or in Spanish "nino sin amor", from which he "took" his name. Never mind that in the comics, his name 'Namor' is expressed countless times as Atlantean and having the meaning "Avenging Son".

Look, you can change little details all you want in adaptations in the MCEU and DCU. But if you want to completely change the storyline and history of an 83 year old character, CREATE YOUR OWN STORY, CHARACTER, MOVIE, or even 'CINEMATIC UNIVERSE'.
