Is Disney not woke?
Have they not pushed their agenda?

When did the entire mcu become all women?
And then all the young avengers are all women
The Chadwick Boseman tributes at beginning and end were very good

Wasn't the real version of that ball-through-the-side-hoop game we see the kids in Namor's kingdom playing the one that resulted with the beheading of the losing team?
Unlikely. The game was very common and very popular. It would have been rough to sustain over the time the game was popular. Best modern scholarship says this legend arose because it is likely that captives might have been executed/sacrificed during intermission or something and that was included in some ballcourt artwork.
What is interesting about the Aztecs is that they were such assholes, their neighbors generally lined up to help the Spanish destroy them, despite their being strange looking aliens who just came ashore.

Believe it or not, most children don't share your bigoted thoughts

I think that was showing that Shirin doesn't really care about the throne. Remember the Mbaku line from the 1st movie. "Your technology is left in the hands of a teenager who scoffs at tradition".
Mbaku will take over as the new King of Wakanda. However, I'm not sure if that means Shuri is giving up her powers. Or if we will have 2 Black Panthers running around. Mbaku may be itching to get his hands on the herb after Namor punched him out of commission with a single punch

Pretty funny coming from a board bigot.

That did seem like projection.

I attempted to watch over the weekend with the wife, and I turned it off after an hour. I’ve NEVER done that with an mcu movie.
Boring. As. shite.
Marvel is dying a slow death. Should’ve ended after end game.

Apologies for the Wiki link, but this one appears to be the victim of revisionist history if they're trying to soften the impact of this game.

To be sure, the Spanish conquest of Central America was brutal and inhumane, but this is an absolutely valid point. That the barbarians from Europe saw what the Aztecs were doing and were all, "Dude, WTAF?" speaks volumes.

Aren't white people banned from watching?

Oh, it probably happened at times. And, perhaps as a result of a rigged game (the losers would have been killed/sacrificed, anyway). But the larger point (and there is even argument over whether the winners or losers were sacrificed) is that the game was so popular in Mesoamerican culture, for such a long time that it would have been impossible to sustain if the best teams/players were routinely lost.
It was either predetermined or a reasonably rare occurrence (or perhaps practiced for a relatively short period of time, being unsustainable), is what I think the modern scholarship is trying to suggest.

You have to take the Spanish accounts w/a MASSIVE boulder sized piece of salt. There is little doubt that the Aztecs could be incredibly brutal (as was every nation back then) but the Spanish (again, as would pretty much every other nation then and now) massively exaggerated many of the things they claimed to have seen natives doing so that they could justify their own brutality and conquests.

i'm reading Empire of the Summer Moon, and while i think the Comanches weren't as bad as the Aztecs in a lot of regards, they were some savage MFers.
Their first interaction with American Settlers they killed and scalped some men, kidnapped women and children, killed the kids after a while, then took turns raping the women.
We didn't even have a chance to be a-hole colonizers to them.

True, but they didn't carve what they saw in stone like the locals did.

Watched it yesterday for 1st time. It was mostly meh.
Pros
-Good, touching tribute to Chadwick
-Winston Duke as M'Baku is great casting, and he steals every scene he's in. Would love to see him as Black Panther going forward as the ending suggested
Pro/Con
-Namor was good on screen to me, but I did not read the comics. So if I had, I'd be pretty peeved that they re-wrote his origin as many posters are
Cons
-Shuri as Black Panther is just hilarious, that was legit punchline since the news of Chadwick's passing yet somehow Marvel/Disney with all their agenda pushing couldn't help themselves and had to turn it to crap.
-Namor to Shuri about "people who look like us"
-Riri's suit was shite. The actress seemed okay, but I'm not too thrilled about the way they are showing her character on screen just yet
-The new blue Avatar/Predator suits were shite
-How the hell did Wakanda go from a fortress so impressive that the Avengers chose there to fight Thanos and his entire army of thousands, yet they don't have shite for defense in this movie??? I understand there is no Black Panther, but still
