The only time he stole 5 bases in a game
He stole three or more bases in a game 71 times in his career, including four steals 19 times.

Especially his career stolen base record. Dude has 50% more career stolen bases than the 2nd place player on that list, Lou Brock.
To put it in perspective, Brock stole 938 bases in his career. If a player played 20 seasons, he would have to average 47 stolen bases a year to beat Brock’s career number. Last season, Jon Berti led the majors in stolen bases…with 41.
It would take Berti 23 years just to match Brock’s career number if he averaged his major league leading 41 bases a year and over 34 years to beat Rickey’s mark

That's incredibly impressive. I'm not huge into baseball, so I only know him by name only.
But he must have had some elite speed. Like world class track speed. Apart from that, he had it down to a science better than anyone else. Even from the gif, you can see the entire time he's running very low to the ground, that probably makes for a smoother time as you slide in for a base.

Henderson was caught 335 times. Not bad considering the numbers of those below him on the all-time steals list, but too many times and he tried to steal third too often and getting caught often hurt the team. He had good hitters behind him, etc.
His speed helped a lot with runs scores, infield hits, etc. A great talent and great record from an era where small-ball mattered, but the steals issue became too much of his focus, often pissing off his team.
Henderson was caught 335 times. Not bad considering the numbers of those below him on the all-time steals list, but too many times and he tried to steal third too often and getting caught often hurt the team. He had good hitters behind him, etc.

6 year old me and the dozen or so kids lining the dugout got snubbed for an autograph by Rickey when he was taking batting practice with the As when they were playing the rangers. I hated Rickey irrationally for a long time after that

I grew up a Rangers' fan and hated him too. It wasn't until much later that I could rationally discuss his greatness.
