I am very happy I was able to drink before I was 21 in bars...it made for some good times...not once did I think about doing what these kids did.

Reggie just filled the void that exists when most of your students are under 21 but they come still with expectations of the college drunk right of passage.

I had a blast going to reggies when I was at LSU but it was always a shithole, with shitty bouncers looking for a fight and shitty bartenders over-serving people. Their earned reputations isn’t going to do them any favors come lawsuit time.

that would be great, but how does that stop the trash from Walker and Denham Springs (or anywhere else) coming to Tiger Land?

Require college ID. When I was in high school all the college bars in New Orleans started to do this to keep us out.

And it was way easier to get in after Katrina when nobody gave a shite.

Dude, you need to frick right off with this line of talk. We know who was 100 percent at fault. Trying to rope some working guy into being culpable is fricking sick.

Sorry her being struck in a street is a part of a horrific story. If he was to be speeding then that goes into a review of liability. Being a working Uber driver at 2:50 am doesn’t give him a pass on possible careless driving. Sure, he’s not the rapists but we can have all inclusive conversations about different parts that matter.

Is she buzzed but coherent and well aware of what she’s doing? Or is she shitfaced and also doesn’t remember her address or seem aware of her surroundings? Those are two different mental and physical states and any guy who says he doesn’t recognize the difference is full of shite.

I agree. In fact I said exactly that

I got downvotes for repeating what is in the arrest warrant.

I’m not saying it never happens. But at the end of the night, 80% of the people in every bar in Tigerland probably should have been cut off by that point. It’s not a very common occurrence.

I’m living proof of this statement.

The cause of her being raped and killed are the four who were arrested. They need to be hunted.

Anyone who has ever been to Reggie’s know how they operate

They make their buck on underage drunk out of their mind students. They have fights and all kinds of issues every night, and stopping any of the above isn’t a priority at all for them

They choose to operate that way. Which is their choice to make money that way, but when something like this ends up happening it’s hard for anyone to act like it’s just something that was completely out of their hands

White women are way more likely to be raped by a white male

93% off sexual crimes are committed by someone of the same race. Race really doesn’t need to be a part of this story. The NAACP I’ll make it so though

Now do how many white males rape black women vs black males and white women.

You are probably getting downvotes because you said she pulled up her pants. The arrest warrant said adjusted her pants which is very different.

why do you want to discuss out of race rapes when it makes up only 7% TOTAL?

But anyway

Of the 7% of sexual assaults that are interracial, 3.4% involve the assault of a Black woman by a White man, while 3.3% involve the assault of a White woman by a Black man

It’s much easier for a university to target a bar that predominantly serves their students than it is to fight crime on behalf of the entire city.

The frick? Tate could publicly call out the city Admins for their utter failure at crime prevention and crime prosecution. Moreover, he could publicly call out the culture that cultivates these types of criminals. But he’a too woke to do so. Instead he’s going to run an Al Sharpton shake down of local businesses (evident by the threat:

We will work openly against any business that doesn’t join us in efforts toward creating a safer environment for our students. Enough is enough.

LSU has tremendous stroke. Why doesn’t he use his position to facilitate real change at the government level? Why not try to make a difference in the community that fosters these criminals?

Instead he’s going to target bars. It’s fricking gutless. As usual, it’s deflecting from the real problems and focusing on corollary issues.

I have had this conversation with my husband many times. We did the drunk at a bar hook up thing in college for a while before we grew up, started dating and got married. He’s made similar comments to what y’all are saying.

The thing is, girls and women have historically been taught that teenaged boys and men can’t control themselves so it’s up to us to not “put ourselves in a situation” or wear something provocative that could lead a guy to not be able to control himself. There was tons of victim blaming when a female was assaulted because “why did she leave with him?” Or “why did she wear that short, tight dress?”

Times are changing, and as they do, the question is no longer “why did she put herself in this situation?” But “why did he not listen when she said no or was too drunk to consent” etc. So will this societal shift maybe lead to a “cry wolf” situation where a girl claims rape when she really just regrets consenting to sex? Yes, that has probably already happened. So just how women have been expected to be selective with who they hook up with or what situations they put themselves in, men will need to be just as thoughtful so that they don’t end up hooking up with a crazy chick that lies about being raped.

I was screaming this after the Rice murder.

The same people defending him for silence after Rice was killed because “muh off campus crime” are praising him for getting tough on a bar and underage drinking.

Hey, Tate’s “not as bad as I thought” is kind of a win, right?

Oh wait, he’s worse.
