Do the strength and conditioning coaches try to get Daniels to bulk up some?

I think he could benefit both as a college player and as a potential pro if he could pack on some more muscle
Obviously we wouldn't want him to get too big because he needs to maintain his speed to be the best he can but I think it would help with durability

I think if they can get him to Cam Newton weight and Height and speed.

He was listed at 175 as high school recruit, 185 at Atizona State and 200 at LSU. He's probably already achieved his weight room gain.

He’s been in college for 4 full seasons - he isn’t getting any bigger than what he is now

I’d love to see him gain 10-15 but I don’t think it’s happening.

He looks like Pooky from New Jack City.

Really down the list on things JD5 needs to do.

Not talking about getting fat...

The most he could gain in 9 months is 5 or 6 pounds.

What? So you are saying you can't put muscle/gain weight after 21 years old?

I can't see having more lean muscle and strength hindering him in any way
Might make him a tougher runner. Like it or not the guy will be doing a lot of running again.

What? You think a 6’3” 200 lbs 22 year old can’t get bigger?

If they're going to get him bigger its going to be in his legs. They're gonna leave his upper body alone and focus more on just flexibility on the upper body.

Y’all act like your dealing with a freshmen qb in Daniels, he’s a 5th year guy he is who he is

Nah, this way if he lights it up from game 1 we can call him the Slim Reaper.

6 pounds of lean muscle and some added strength wouldn't hurt
And we wouldn't want him getting to 230 or something like that because it would hurt his speed anyway

He seemed to be just fine as a runner. He absorbed a lot of hits, and avoided many more. It wasn't really until the last game of the season where he go injured. And that was a rolled ankle. I don't really see how making him a "more powerful runner" really improves his skillset. Are you suggesting he get bigger to create MORE contact as a runner? He's never going to be Cam Newton as a runner. His strength is his elusiveness. If he gets bigger and loses that is that really an advantage?
You may see him put on 5-7 more pounds, at best, but from a physical standpoint he is fine. He's tall. Has good vision as a runner (I don't recall a player with a better ability to step through leg tackles seemingly coming from his blind spot). He has enough arm strength to make the necessary throws. His issues is making better/quicker decisions on when to let the ball go.

Are y'all on crack? Lol.
Weight gain is, like another poster said, way down the list of things he needs to do.
