I hope I don't regret this comment but nobody loves spamming a QLCS line with tornado warnings as much as NWS Memphis.....

If a tornado were to hit, would my dog be safer outside, or in her kennel inside one of our bedrooms. I’m leaning kennel, however I’d hate for her to be crushed under some rubble because we will not be home

Put the dog inside. A tornado is gonna be bad regardless. But I’d rather my pet be inside and sheltered from flying debris (at least somewhat) as opposed to being in a kennel outdoors and relatively exposed. A direct hit from a strong tornado? I doubt it matters where they are (if above ground).
