A Prediction Regarding the Mario Movie and Nintendo

If the new Mario movie is anywhere near competent, look for it to be a bigger than expected hit. People may suspect it will do well, but industry experts will be surprised when it surpasses expectations (if it’s any good).
The reason for this is simple. There are millions of parents out there, like me, dying to take their kids to something they can all enjoy without feeling like the woke brigade is cramming something down our throats.
Nintendo could very well be the company who can fill the void left by Disney’s descent into hell… er, I mean wokeness.

If Nintendo was smart, they'd avoid the woke stuff and get the Top Gun 2 effect at the box office.

My wife and I were just talking about the same thing. Minions (spelling?) was really the only movie released this year we felt appropriate for our three kids. There is definitely a void.

I've always felt like the Zelda universe is a sleeping giant for someone to pick up as a tv series.

They'd start making moves to cut out the middlemen like Universal and create their own movie/tv studio company. They're sitting on a gold mine of IP that can give them a range of different genres for shows and movies. Then maybe form a partnership with someone like Toei for some joint ventures and they'd really have something.
I wonder if they can do like Lego did for the Lego movies and use the video game versions of other characters that they have licenses for or however that works?

It will be a big hit because:
1) the original players (40-50yo are now parents
2) those parents children also grew up playing and still play Nintendo

Pretty sure Top Gun had more going for it than just being “not woke”
