re: What celebrities have you met? Were they nice or a jerk?

This is a bad take.
Those people have the right to their privacy, and we aren't entitled to shite from them.
OK I'm going to walk back my original comment. I do think celebrities have the right to privacy. But it does annoy the shite out of me when the rich and famous act like they are annoyed and bothered all the time by the "commoners" who have made them rich and famous. Like, show some grace and thankfulness to your fans. But the flipside of that is that many fans are morons who approach them at the wrong time, and celebrities are humans as well.
So anyways, yeah...I went too far in my original comment.

Maybe he is an a-hole I don't know, but I don't think I'd want to be signing some stuff for a dude that has been waiting for me while I take a shite. That is weird. I mean when is the right time to ask someone for an auto after taking a dump? Before he washes his hands or while he's trying to dry them? Or maybe just stand around in a bathroom chatting with a stranger.
I guess we should have the decency to leave him alone when he's out in the streets, or if he's eating, or feeding his daughter. Probably not the best time to speak to him. He doesnt owe us a motherfricking thing. It's not like he's a member of N'Sync or known to be Mr Friendly. He can definitely be a prick.

Paul Newman famously stated he stopped giving autographs after some guy approached him for an autograph before Paul was even finished pissing at a urinal.
That was out-of-bounds. Give the man his privacy.

When I was a teenager, I worked at a place that did custom crate jobs. My boss asked me if I would work one Saturday to help someone drive to Baton Rouge to pick something up, bring it back to the shop, and crate it up. I met this guy early in the morning, we rented a U-Haul and drove to some thrift store to buy what I later learned was a custom Mellatron Organ. It looked like a piece of shite, but the guy had flown in from California for it because there were only like 100 of this particular one made.
I shot the shite with him the entire way there, talking about him growing up in NY, being a fireman, and moving to California. Only found out when we were eating lunch, when someone recognized him, that I had spent the better part of the day with Steve Buscemi. Now, we never talked about movies and he was wearing sunglasses and a hat the entire time, so I never really noticed.
Anyway, awesome guy. He bought me lunch and tipped me $500.

It also depends on where they are .. I'm in Los Angeles, so seeing celebrities in my neighborhood coffee shop or restaurant is a regular thing. So, most people leave them alone really. Same with NYC.
I was working with Ryan Phillipe years ago in BR and we had lunch at the Chimes. No less than 4 moms/daughters approached the table. And he's not even famous famous.
For the most part, the actors I've been around have all been super nice even when reserved a bit. Gal Gadot being on of them. Bill Murray off set is just a you would imagine. All time and place really.

Wife has worked in the industry for decades. I know ALOT of celebs. Some nice, some not. Some are so famous that they get stopped all day long by everyone on the street wanting to talk or ask for photos. By saying no, people think they are dicks, but honestly its all day everyday - I'd kinda be a dick too. Example - Sam Jackson is a nice guy, but he doesn't want to be bothered. If you walk up to him with an iphone while he is in a public restroom he will go Pulp Fiction on you. Seen it happen.
Imagine how weird that whole thing must be? I'm sure all of us have, from time to time, been out somewhere and either had someone look at you like their recognize you or you've done the same to them and there's that strange feeling of "Yeah, I know this guy" that comes over you. Then, you realize you don't and hopefully you hadn't already stopped to say hi.
Picture having one of the most recognizable faces on the entire planet, and having EVERYONE look at you like that EVERYWHERE. Total strangers who all "know" you, and you don't know any of them. And because they all think this is their one chance to say hi, a ton of them do... And even if nearly all of them are polite, the total numbers would be astronomical for some of them.
I certainly not arguing in favor of them being dicks all the time, but holy hell I can imagine how they would be if they encountered hundreds of assholes DAILY wanting something form them, even if just their time.

Mrs. Vox is reading Leslie Jordan's book from 2021, written just after he kinda became Instagram-famous due to his livestreams during the pandemic. He said his two favorite things to do were to go to his local coffee spot and read a couple of newspapers, and drive around LA in his convertible BMW. Once the IG notoriety hit, he started to get mobbed with people and he dropped the coffee shop trips. When he chose to drive around town just to enjoy the weather, he did it with the top up. Kinda sad.

He could get coffee in my kitchen and I'd leave him alone, 'cause I have no idea who that is.

He was Beverly Leslie on Will and Grace, and has been in a number of sitcoms since then, most recently on Call Me Kat on Fox. He's a tiny little gay dude from Chattanooga whose southern drawl stood out in LA like a sore thumb.
Unfortunately he just passed away unexpectedly while driving to the Fox studios.
He was a sassy little guy who by all appearances was one of the gentlest souls to walk the planet.

Yeah, I didn’t know whether to take that story as a joke or not.
But if you’re hanging around the bathroom while I’m taking a dump, I hate you for no other reason than that.

My wife tells a story from her modeling days in the 80s when she got in a limo with Mick Jagger and Kate Moss. People jumped on the car and smashed their faces all over the glass to see inside. Car couldn't move and even with police help they had to drive away with fans hanging on the hood.
Wife said she would never want to be what she called "Beatles" famous. It's way too scary.

To anyone over 30, I'd say that Phillipe is "famous famous."

Buddy of mine had an encounter with him years ago on an airport tram. He said there was this old man sitting across from him with his suitcase in front of him. He looked sort of familiar but couldn't place him.
He then noticed that his case had his initials D.V.D. on it.
My buddy looked up at his face, and Dick Van Dyke was already looking right back at him and sort of nodded like, "Yeah, it's me," and winked at him.
DVD became somewhat infatuated with NewTek and their product the Video Toaster back in the 1990s and bought a setup of his own and would routinely stop by the office in San Antonio for assistance and my brother (the main IT guy at the time) ended up being his 'go to' guy for any questions he had. He would sometimes get calls in the middle of the night but DVD was such a nice guy he was always happy to get out of bed and help him with whatever problem he was having.

If you tempt him, his tank is on empty. No patience is in him, and if you offend him, he'll lift you ten feet in the air. He won't care who was there and who saw him just jaw you.
