I'd live in a full-on farmstyle house if Joanna Gaines came with it.

A church near me bought a nice, fairly new, brick building, and proceeded to use the church's money to stucco it with some fake stonework, but please call it faux stone because that makes a difference.

It would seem people would like something more unique than to look like everyone elses abode.

Agree we shoukd go back to living in cubicles

There is a medium here...I have a house that has a defined living room then the kitchen is offset through a large arched opening. The two rooms flow into each other but are defined enough that if you're in the kitchen you don't feel at all like your in the living room and vice versa.

I host watch parties and women can congregate and talk full volume in the kitchen and we don't notice shite. I've been to alot of open concept houses where no matter where you go it's all one giant hellish overlapping conversation.

Joanna Gaines requires tribute or she'll take your Xanax when you're sleeping.

Did that a decade ago in Skagway, AK and I miss the hell out of it. Carefree living.

I think you're missing it.

They think it is unique.

It's the same thing as people who now get tattoos not realizing they are a part of the hivemind.

I don't want to simultaneously be in the kitchen, living room, and foyer all at the same time

I don’t really mind most of those design choices. The faux beams are not my thing. I don’t mind the accent wall, but it’s going to age pretty quickly, so I would probably avoid.

you nonconformists are all alike. :)

The purple haired barista crowd that holds every opinion that government and corporate culture tells them to considers themselves the counter culture.

Black and white Board and Batten is the suburban equivalent of zebra stripes. The colors are coincidental.

Idk I know I'm in the minority but it drives me crazy. To me I prefer to have defined spaces instead of a living/dining/kicthen room. Those houses that basically just have an island dividing the living room and kitchen the sounds of the kitchen are always in the living room... During parties all conversations and groups are just talking over and bleeding into one another. If you have a small aratment of house I get it to make the most of your space and make it feel more spacious, but I don't get it for a solid sized house. Doesn't need cubicles..just a little bit of definition.

That’s a stupid take. If it’s that “Bama Campus Brick” it should be repainted.
