exactly. Why does every 90s home have a garden tub. Semicircle window above the window in the great room and beige/tan tile everywhere?

In 10 years there will be another trend that we will be a fan of as well. So, does it really matter?

There are things you can do that are fairly ageless. Classic wood floors, neutral marble or porcelain tiles, neutral earth tones, etc

White cabinets are pretty timeless. It's the blue islands that will date the current trend in kitchens.

Nickel fixtures haven't aged in 30 years but the current black and gold will age like milk.

Fake wood beams are hot?

They looked like dated shite 20 years ago.

I put up the navy blue 45 degree wood planks, and another decorative wall with grey wood planks. And both look better than your sheetrock. Ima do some wallpaper next.

More of a reference to that couple starting all the trends.

All of this is going to look like the French country stucco houses in 10 years

Yes. People are still putting them up

At least get some cypress and make something more natural than the fake crap that you can tell from a mile away is fake

FWIW I like real wood beams but I prefer a coffered ceiling if you need something on your ceiling

Doing one in my dining room now

Just need a 'Live Laugh Love' sign and an analog clock above the fireplace.

I feel like houses with this color pattern are a pressure washing company's wet dream.

I have a level 5 flat finish in my entire house. Looks more modern and I hate texture anything.

I really like the look but the single section tub sinks are terrible. Completely inefficient.

The barn doors and weird colored cabinets/islands are stupid as hell. You may as well not have a door if you have a barn door, you can still hear everything

all OPEN CONCEPT!!!! NO WALLS!!!!

We saw a house for sale a few weeks ago that took the open concept to the extreme. It literally looked like the builder built the entire house then realized he forgot the kitchen. So he stuck it in the corner of the living room.

It was horrendous looking.

And I blame Chip and Joanne for the white/gray/barn door/shiplap/country everything is the same color BS.

By changing the trend and what is in, consumers are forced to consume.

Funny. I have built judges paneling on the taller walls in my foyer, dining, living, and game room and have built wainscotting everywhere else including my hallways. Natural and timeless. Way better than slanted 1x2s that every basic housewife in American is doing because they saw it on Pinterest
