You left out Bruno's, A.T. II's and Shanahans..

I'm sure I saw you at one of those bars..

I was a Rummel boy going to Bruno's when I was 16..

We also hit Pied Pipers Pizza in Metry and Pizza Inn by the Lake. There was also a Pizza Inn on Severn and Vets where Shake Shack is now. RIP Lagers..

For the NO area high school guys in the 1980s...

Lakefront 1982

Those times were the shite.. No cell phones, no social media bs.. Just people hanging out and having a good time...

PeppeRoni's pizza on West Esplanade was our favorite, but most of the pizza joints in Metairie, Luther's. Anyplace that had a couple video games.

I ended up at some fairly wild times under the bridge on lafitte larose... house parties on the west bank crushed anything else in metro NO back then

Daiquiri world and PJ’s last chance. Would also hang out at the pavilion in Vicksburg. Being in high school in the late 80’s, you could buy alcohol in Delta, La with a hunting license. Good times

I spent 4 or 5 summers at Rosemound. Docks, decks, boat houses, gas, soda jerk, plums and figs were some of my jobs. Rode a dump truck full of gravel down the side of a pit when the road colapsed.
But when good looking girls showed up and wanted to ski, my grandparents gave me the day off, a boat and all the gas we needed,

Christmas Eve Bonfires in Reserve?

Grew up in Reserve and we had great times building the bonfires and then lighting them on Christmas Eve.

I gotta say though, St. James (particularly Lutcher and Gramercy) are way more into the bonfires than Reserve or LaPlace or even Garyville.

That or random fields.

Must be a NE LA thing. I lost track of how many cotton fields between Monroe and Jones we would go drink at.

Not from NE LA, but when we were younger, we'd go a ways into the sugar cane fields, clear out a small space and sit around chewing sugar cane and engaging in what (to our youthful minds) were deep philosophical discussions.

I left those out intentionally, as I did not frequent them much. But yea, they were big HS hangouts then.

Most of the guys from my Metairie elementary school went to Rummel, but I went to Jesuit.

Pick up liquor at the store on Flournoy Lucas, or Red's on Mansfield Rd. Hit up the ole Mc D's on Jewella near Southpark Mall. Then, off to the tennis center on Bert Kouns. Add in a stop to Interport Rd, then rinse was and repeat. We used to take the occasional trip out to Wallace Lake damn too.

Either Dairy Queen or some predetermined spot to meet up on an oilfield road in the woods. Small town East Texas.

I didn't get to "hangout" because we weren't latch key kids and had responsible parents.

That's what my Dad used to tell me on repeat.
