quote:

An American Airlines passenger is asking the company for "reparations" after tweeting that she was "wedged" between two "obese people" on a three-hour flight.

quote:

"This is absolutely NOT acceptable or okay. If fat people want to be fat, fine. But it is something else entirely when I'm stuck between you, with your arm rolls on my body, for 3 hours," Watson said.

quote:

Watson said that the flight attendant on the plane "has asked me 4 times if I need anything" and gave her "the ‘this is f--ked’ pity expression."

According to Watson, she asked a brother to one of the women  she was sitting next to if he'd like to "swap seats."

"He says, 'no. That's okay :)' ...and then I started shrieking internally," Watson said.

quote:

After calling out American Airlines, the company responded, tweeting: "Our passengers come in all different sizes and shapes. We're sorry you were uncomfortable on your flight."

quote:

Responding to media coverage of her experience, Watson said that she stands behind "everything I said" and tweeted "I'd like some reparations pls."

Got to say, I don't blame her.

There's never a good time to have a middle seat in coach unless you're the only one on your row.

This is a situation where "reparations" is 100% appropriate.

She’s right. Fatties need to be forced to buy two seats. Anyone who asked for a belt extender should be immediately removed if they didn’t plan ahead and get two seats.

The problem isn’t really the fat people - it’s the seats. I remember reading this report a few years ago that showed since the seventies every seat - movie theaters, sporting events, restaurants, busses, cars, entertainment venues, pretty much everywhere that people congregate - all those seats have expanded in size with one exception: the fricking airlines.

frick these airlines…

We went from this…

Soon to be this…

If you're too fat to fit in an airplane seat, outside of very few scenarios, you should be ashamed of yourself.

I had this happen before, wrote an email to United asking about their policy & when individuals require two seats.

Was told that once the individual requires two seat belt extensions they need two seats.

They apologized for me having to share my seat with another individual & gave me 20,000 points to cover the flight.

Most people have no trouble fitting in those seats. That being said, I have no idea how large people are supposed to fit in the 737 Max bathrooms

The dreaded middle seat been there many times.

Always like the people that ask if they can raise the arm rest. That's a big nope, I don't want your blubber flowing into my space.

Always scan the people boarding when I'm in my seat, please don't let if be the fatty, please don't...

difference is: train seats, theatre seats, and ballpark seats don’t have to be flown through the sky where space and weight are at a premium.

Flying is expensive and isn’t a right. It’s not for everyone. If you can’t fit, perhaps you should reconsider flying
