Denbrock & Daniels or Ensminger & Brennan?

I'm not anti-Daniels. I think he plays hard, gives 100%. Runs the plays that are called. It's all on CBK. This is the offense he wanted when there were other options). This will heretofore be known as "Kelly Ball."

1) Les, post-'08, didn't require a QB to develop. CBK is at the opposite end of the spectrum. It doesn't matter who else develops. We could have the whole '19 skill pos players sans Burrow and the offense would be the same.

2) CBK needs to come to terms with his new environs. In the NFL Draft from 2011-2022, ND had 20 skilled position players drafted. By comparison we had 25. But of Kelly's 20 skill position picks, only 10 were RBs and WRs. By comparison 20 of our 25 skill position picks were RBs and WRs.

Brennan's Last LSU Action

For context, this was Brennan's 3rd start. Lot of new faces. Not lots of experience. Steve was OC. Arik and Kayshon were true Fr. All seems like a foreign country now.

Can we give him time to recruit at least one full class in normal circumstances and get them in the building?

My god you people are ignorant. Lol

I definitely don't think the offense would have been the same with 2019 players. Joe Burrow would have taken the same play calls and scored 40 points. He also knows how to check out of a play. Huge difference!! Daniel's won't even throw it unless someone is wide open. I do believe we would be undefeated or atleast scored points with Tennessee if Brennan was our QB. BK really messed that up!!!

Watched that whole vid:
- Damnit I thought Brennan would be special here. He really threw that MF
- it was nice seeing WRs make catches on imperfect balls

Yeah - In the first half of that clip I saw over a dozen passes that Daniels just does not have the ability to throw, nor the gumption to try.

We have nothing to compare that level of play to. I still cannot understand how Bannon was 4th on the depth chart in general - or that Daniels was ahead of him in particular.

Makes no sense at all.

And like you, Daniels seems like a great guy - but sadly just doesn't have what it takes to be a qb.

Man that video just goes to show how underrated MB was for such a terrible team. He was under pressure what seemed like every drop back in all 3 of those games and he still shredded the defenses. After that Miss State game he really settled in. Shame we never got to see anything past that. Don't know if injuries really set him back or just completely lost all will to play the game.

At the end of the day, the record would likely look the same. I just think this team is who most people thought they were. Like it or not, this roster has to be re-built. Miles was not going to be the guy that could carry this team to something other than about where we land anyway, IMO. It used to be that the back-up QB was the most popular player on a struggling team. We have now gone to new heights. Our most popular player doesn't even play football anymore

Brennan looked smooth. I’d give anything for him to be here right now

You mean on offense only?

We have had from 2011-2022 we have had 14 CBs alone drafted.

we have a bad OL and Kelly knew he needed a mobile QB. And Nuss was prone to some bad decisions. Thus, it's Daniels.

Now, I think Daniels has done well, considering the OL and the terrible play calling from Denbrock.

But I also believe that Daniels need to be quicker and more aggressive throwing downfield. Some of Daniels scrambling is because of the OL, but some is because he's too hesitant to sling it downfield.

This board has given Brennan way too much credit. He wouldn't have survived in this offense, behind this OL.

I just don’t think Brennan was the same guy anymore.

A lot of us tried to push for Brennan but no, everyone always wants the newest thing put

I was A big Brennan guy, but if he wasn’t putting the work into the new system then he could easily get passed up coming off almost 2 years off and a serious arm injury.

Its obvious the fans who say Brennan couldn't scramble or run are delusional.
He moves, avoids DL, and was on target.
His OL wasn't much different than this years OL. If you check the time he and Daniels have to throw, the only difference was Brennan saw the field and hit his target. It appears to be a different game.
Don't know what Denbrock and Kelly saw, but it's scary, disappointing that we let him go and kept Daniels.

Business Decision

the business decision is Daniels or Nussmeir at this point. If Daniels ever clicks on the throwing he could be a Heisman guy but at some point the experiment is over.

Nuss creates a new predicament for BK. If he comes in and develops it puts Walker Howard in a tight spot. I think you take the bird in the hand and if Nuss gets it done so be it.

This is the decision because like it or not we are only a decent QB away from Top Tier SEC. I am not expecting miracles but the time is now for the guys that stuck around.

You can’t honestly think that MB would be better after seeing how this line plays. JD is there bc he can make plays with his feet.

The difference is Daniels. Brennan played w a crap line and Pellini’s historically bad defense. Brennan went through progressions and threw guys open which is something Daniels just can’t do. I wish Daniels could do it but he just can’t. Brennan would throw it away before taking a sack. It’s a shame MB only got what 3 or 4 games as a starter but it’s obvious he knew he wasn’t going to be the guy this fall and decided he was done.

This is so dumb I don’t even know where to start.
