Why are large frame sunglasses in style?

They look so dumb. I see women and men both wearing ridiculous looking sunglasses lately. Wasn’t that a thing in the 70’s? Pretty women hide their pretty faces with gigantic sunglasses. I surely hope this fad ends soon.

I don't care for oversize frames, most of my glasses are as small as I can find. I have two pairs of the Matsuda 2809H Terminator glasses, one in blue, one in orange. Those are the largest frames I own.
Last week I got a pair of Oliver Peoples vintage OP 5s with the sunglass clip.

this doesn’t seem to be nearly the problem it was 10+ years ago. I was in high school in the late aughts and the “large” sunglasses fad seemed to be at its peak. come to think of it, Im not sure I’ve seen a single woman wearing those dumbass giant square frames since then

It's not just sunglasses. I've seen people sporting eyeglass frames that are like a half inch and more wide. They look like a part of a Halloween costume.

Who gives a frick about glasses? Wake me up when the nose/bull ring bullshite is over. Any girl I see sporting that look I think “Wacko liberal nut job alert. Do not engage.” Girl has to be a 9 or over for her looks to overcome it. Even then it’s sooooo trashy and not in a good way.
Tongue stud is allowable for obvious reasons. Anything sexual with these nose/bull rings I’m missing? Rub your taint or shaft with their nose? frick if I know. Enlighten me.
