There are millions of different strands of viruses that are constantly changing. If you are around sick kids you are going to get sick more. Kids will spread germs. Day cares are a necessity for working parents who have child care time issues. I think day cares are good for structure, social skills, and are fun but disagree with these building a super immunity comments I hear.

People need to take better care of themselves. Eat cleaner, take vitamins, sleep as much as you logically can, and stop pounding alcohol on weeknights.
If you do those things then you won’t be getting a cold from your toddler every week.

I think you're confusing an immune system with an invincibility system.

My aunt was a 2nd grade teacher. She said she was constantly getting sick all the time every year for 35 years and it finally stopped when she retired. I asked her if she noticed if her day care students got sick less than the one’s who did not go to daycare. She said nope, sometimes the day care kids got sick more. It was a toss up. She couldn’t see any difference between the two.
Scruffy is around sick children almost daily.

Haven’t missed a day of work.

Anecdote for the win.

Must be an outlier.

wrong on all counts. day care is borderline child abuse. kids under 3 need one on one care from an adult family member they are familiar with to grow to their fullest potential in terms of communication, relationship building, etc.

babies who go to day care are neglected. one person cannot give enough attention to more than a few children at the same time, and nobody in day care has a vested interest in the child's future. the avg. day care worker is making not much over minimum wage.

kids learn how to do the right things and react to situations from adults, not kids who don't know anything.

our society has it all wrong, there should virtually be no need for daycare.

I have not changed my lifestyle at all since we’ve had our child. I have not been sick in years, yet now that our child is in daycare we are constantly getting sick. shite is so aggravating.

This Is where I stopped reading. Your aunt did not keep track of which kids went to daycare 4-5 years before they were in her class.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, it seems the appropriate action is to wipe out all kids.
