Was the second part sarcasm?

If you're referring to me saying they'll hire BK, yes - sarcasm.

I think Bama would have to be in a pretty tough spot to hire away a sitting, successful head coach from LSU. I think they'd at least make a call, but I just can't see it from a program that prides itself on itself. (if that makes sense?) That said, I think they'd hire away a sitting Auburn coach just to screw Auburn...

A lot of Ala. friends that I know wanted Kiffin over Debore.
They also think that when it’s a time to fire their coach, they will come and get Kiffin from us.

I'm sure there were more than a few convos between Bama and Kiffin/ Kiffin's agent before DeBoer got it. We may never know all the pieces that led to him not pursuing it (or at least not taking it) but I have to think him not wanting to follow directly after Saban was a big part of it.

What I can't see is Bama taking him from LSU. If they were to want him, it would mean he has been successful at LSU, which in turn means t Kiffin's success at LSU likely directly impacts DeBoer's downfall. Bama has far too much pride to hire LSU's coach away directly because it doesn't fit their narrative and view of themselves. If history is any indication, they'll hire Brian Kelly when DeBoer plays out.

I hear Sam Pittman may be looking for work. He couldn't make the Hogs relevant but he can certainly coach up an O Line.

Is LSU now the "villain?"

Not that I really care all that much, but with LSU now having hired Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame when the Irish were in the mix for a CFP berth (that they didn't get) and Lane Kiffin when Ole Piss is 99% going to be in the playoff AND host...is LSU a villain now? There's a lot of talk out there about what's wrong with college football, and while a lot of it right now centers on Kiffin...there's another side in that connection as well - LSU. I don't think it will take too long for LSU to be blamed as much or even more for contributing to the hell-in-a-handbasket direction of college athletics.

I personally wouldn't mind embracing the villain role, because it ALSO means competing for SEC and National Championships year in and year out to truly become a "villain." But it is a bit of a different mindset for LSU fan, I think - especially those of us who lived through the dark days in the 80's and 90's.

YES. October is not October till LSU/ UF.

In the most interesting timeline Woodward would run against him and win.

This. If I hear that's in the works I may just move back (or at least get a piece of property in the state) just so I can pull a lever for Woodward against that wish.com DJT wannabe.

No. No they absolutely do not. Jimbo is exactly the coach Auburn deserves, with the requirement he hire Bryan Harsin as his OC and Hugh Freeze as his GM.

I don't know that McElroy is exactly known for high-level sports hot takes that stem from deep analysis and study, but hey - it's the preseason, right? Everyone is undefeated right now.

I don't think they're a championship team - National or SEC - but I think they're trending up. I'm thinking either 9-3 or 8-4 with losses to LSU, A&M, and Georgia - maybe Ole Miss as well*, depending on if Ole Miss is still in the playoff mix at that point in the season.

*All those would be road or neutral-site games. I think that will be their Achilles heel this season.
Tiger Lunatik vs paperwasp

Both are solid though. Good Top 2.
