Idk why people hating what you say is true most modern offenses only have a couple of reads the rest of the routes are to clear the field for your 1 or 2 reads

I agree on one level.

When Kelly runs Tempo, Daniels shines

This offense look’s literally nothing like Les Miles offense.

The closest you could say is 2007 or 2013 but even those schematically are night and day different.

Please go fire up any LSU classic W from the Miles era. It’s a stark contrast to what we are running now.

It’s probably because he’s a smarmy cock bag who thinks he knows more than everyone about everything.

I could be wrong though.

Imagine being some nerd fricking loser with 100k posts on a message board thinking he knows more about football and adapting to personnel than guys who’ve coached it for 20 years. Good god man

I'll put it this way. We get Lincoln Riley instead of Kelly and then get JD to transfer. Does anyone think JD is performing like this in a Riley offense? No way.

JD is not nearly a good enough passer to start in a Lincoln Riley offense

Been making this argument since the conservative, early Miles era.

How’d that work out?

Yeah nuss ran the same offense tonight flawlessly and never took a hit and never had to run. Is it the offense or you just a JD homer trying to cling to reality that he’s some kind of qb.

All offenses not specifically approved by SFP are “dino offenses.” Try to keep up.

Our problem is that the Kelly/Denbrock offense is more antiquated

In what way is it antiquated. What are they not doing that better offenses are doing.

The reality is that Daniels has trouble getting the ball out on time.

Have you been to any games? If not, have you watched any from the all 11 view? In short, is it your opinion that the WRs aren't getting open with his primary or secondary read?

Lsu threw for almost 400 yards tonight and the majority of the balls were out of the qb’s hand in under two seconds. So what are you even talking about? In previous games JD had a hard time seeing open receivers. That doesn’t have a damn thing to do with the offensive scheme. Unless, of course, you are arguing that QB’s in a modern offense aren’t required to anticipate or determine whether or not their receiver is open before they rip it. And if that’s your point, then you’re quite the dumbass.

He shouldn't have to "see the field" like that. This offense is making him do it because it's a dino offense.

I think the "seeing the field" issue for JD is also presnap reads.

Your fooling yourself if you think this offense isn't getting guys open, and many times it's most likely his first read. (Which I think is your point)

JDs issue is, his definition of "open" is much different than everyone else who's watching.

Burrow 4-5 reads if necessary. Mayfield 1 read and done. You’re a clown OP.

Dude…whole field/half field reads are routine. Most reads depend on the coverage. Which means it depends on a pre snap read.

If the QB reads man, you’re gonna throw to the matchup for the play. Best man on weakest aspect of the defense you read pre snap.

If the QB reads zone, you’re gonna throw to the weak side of the field based on pre snap read and then the post snap read as you’re dropping back or waiting for the route trees for the call to develop..

Then you have to look at the play call. If it’s a pure progression, you’re not looking at matchup or strong/weak side. You’re looking for open grass to throw it to the void. Usually the best call for a zone coverage look.

There are also levels concepts where you progress via half field reads in order looking short, intermediate and long, or other combinations of those with a potential check down substituted for the levels. Or it could be a horizontal version of this concept where the QB’s vision doesn’t shift vertically down the field as the play design gives options horizontally across the field in a single area. Instead you simply see a left to right or Vice versa scan.

You have options and responsibilities on almost every passing play. There is a primary receiver designed for the playcall if the QB reads man coverage pre snap. There is a primary receiver for zone coverage pre snap reads that depend on the strong/weak side of the field from a defensive alignment perspective standpoint. They are also not the same even if it’s the same play call.

In short, if you think there aren’t multiple reads whether man or zone pre snap in any passing offense at the P5 Level that isn’t running Triple Option Paul Johnson style, you’re gonna post a long, drawn out example of why and how you really don’t know wtf you’re talking about and your opinion about the LSU offense is nonsensical.

My suggestion: save yourself from being labeled a dumbass.

When you run long, slow developing, pass routes, the QB must see the entire field.

This is the problem run one or two 5-10 yard pass routes this lets Daniels know there are quick routes being run and gives him a quick dump off. I watched Richardson with Florida today and he killed it throwing these routes and once he had that confidence he looked like a different qb from the previous weeks. Daniels takes to long to go through the progressions with the routes down the field just make this more of a reaction for Daniels instead of making the decision to throw or run. Probably 80% of the time he takes off without looking down the field. I know he is trying and getting better but the difficult games are right around the corner starting in Oct.
