CA to become first state to ban natural gas heaters and furnaces

Apparently they have a new tactic: for the elites claim this will reverse "climate change" and for the poor folks claim this will help "low income and disadvantaged" people.

The electricity produced, in Columbia SC, is made by turbines at Lake Murray. Guess what fuel source the turbine uses... natural gas.

and yet they still have a moratorium preventing any and all new power plants from being built.
they cant charge the few electric cars they have now, and have rolling blackouts with zero demand from electric cars to even add to the demand, yet pass laws saying the only viable means of getting around in vehicles cant be used

Would it be such a bad thing for millions of groomers to take cold showers?

All is well. We’re installing solar panels above our canals. Nothing to see, move along..

Regular folks need to man up and storm the California and remove that arse.
Take him on a one way boat ride.

United States emissions went down from 2005 -2020.
Why?
Natural gas usage skyrocketed.
This proves the lack of science and it is about control

They have already banned gas stoves and wood-burning fireplaces in new construction. So, this doesn’t surprise me in the least.
I’m sure before long we’ll be down to harvesting sunlight for heat and just sucking it up when we’re hot. Unless, of course, you’re an elite. Which I’m not.

Electric heat strips suck an astronomical amount of electricity. The least efficient use of energy is using electric to heat a home

No matter how many universes a person does or doesn't believe in, in which one is this an intelligent decisioin?
It was just 2 - 3 weeks ago that California had rolling blackouts because their power grid was on the verge of failing. Even with the blackouts, as I recall, businesses and homeowners were urged to set their thermostats to 78 degrees or higher to reduce demand on the grid. Next is the plan to halt the sale of gas/diesel burning vehicles by (?)2035. And now, by 2030, sales of natural gas space heaters, furnaces, and water heaters will be forbidden.
Where are the plans for new power plants that will be needed to provide this additional power? How will said power plants be fueled? Coal? Natural Gas? (Gasp!)Nuclear?
Whatever the correct numbers may be, how does California enact policies that will require "X" Gigawatts per day, all while knowing the state can only produce "Y" Gigawatts?

The dumb thing (or one of the many dumb things) about this is that the electric ones are going to be primarily fueled by natural gas anyway.
Stupid. But at least they aren't going so far as to remove the existing gas units from homes and businesses. That would be extremely stupid.
i.e. this will have virtually no positive impact whatsoever
Gas units will remain in existing homes/businesses and in any new homes/businesses built up until 2030
This is a virtue signal as much as it is anything else

Residential and commercial buildings in California account for approximately five percent of the state’s total nitrogen oxide emissions due to natural gas combustion, according to the originally proposed plan, released in August 2022.

These people are LITERALLY trying to go back to the stone ages.

What about burn barrels for the homeless?

Nothing surprises me here. You can explain to people all day that the electricity will have to come from fossil fuels or hydro but the believe that it is wind and solar that will handle the new demand. And it has nothing to do with intelligence. They are simply blind to truth that falls outside their belief system.

They should have been banned years and years ago. I nearly blew up our home at the age of 6 by turning on a gas heater in the bathroom. Back then they didn't automatically light up.

So they should be banned because you were a retarded 6 year old?
Makes sense
