Should corporations and foreigners be able to buy houses?

I saw an article saying large blocks of housing is purchased by black rock etc. which makes residential housing expensive due to lack of inventory. Same for Chinese nationals buying houses. Can we go Americans first and make these illegal?

i have a bigger problem with chinese corporations and chinese shell companies buying our farmlands.

If I want to own land abroad it would be hypocritical to not allow someone to own land here.

The greatest threat to U.S. national security is the Chinese, yet we allow them to buy large sums of U.S. real estate

Nope. Corporations and foreign money buying up American homes and thus making it harder for US citizens to secure their futures is something that should be talked about a lot more. Idk what legislation can be passed but something needs to be done

1 in 4 houses purchased in the past 3 years have been by corporations.

I'd heavily, heavily restrict the ability of foreigners to purchase property.
As far as corporations, and I do mean ALL corporations (including the family investing LLC or S), I would impose an exponentially increasing property tax for multiple homes, and something similar but less severe for land.

Heavily restrict foreign real estate investment.
Levy a substantial tax or fee for multiple residential property ownership.
Restrict corporate ownership of individual residential houses

The builder of our home in our cookie cutter neighborhood said they were restricting foreign owned entities and corporations from buying up any of the properties in the neighborhood. They didn't want it to be bought up and immediately turned into a bunch of rentals.

How about we rephrase the question this way:
Say I own a home, and I want to sell it to a willing buyer who is a foreigner. But the government swoops in and says no.
Looks a little different in this light, don't it?

Our Supreme Court has already ruled that corporations are people too.

American companies cannot even operate in China without the Chinese government having majority interest. There are few exceptions to this. (Tesla)
I think we should severely limit it because it can be an economic weapon.

I’ve thought this for a long time. None citizens should be required to rent. Corporations and companies on the stock exchange also.

What do the corporations do with the housing? Are they renting it out? Flipping it for a profit?

I'm as libertarian as it gets, but we have bent over backwards to consider corporations as people for far too long. Businesses are not people, and businesses that suck at the teet of the state and federal governments are basically a branch of government at this point to me.
