I have absolutely no love for the monarchy, but I do have respect for a woman like the Queen. She was a staple force for her country through some difficult times and was great advocate for her people. I don't think she would ever call half her population fascists or racists on national TV.

Actually, whether or not he goes will be an interesting comment on his current condition. There is no way that the President of the United States...any President of the United States...can miss the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. It would be the biggest slap in the face imaginable to our oldest and most trusted ally in the world. If he is at all able to go without coming across like a blithering, senile fool, he has to go. If he doesn't go, it's because his handlers know that he can't do it. And it will tell Americans a lot.
