We had to walk to school, but if it was pouring rain she would have dropped us off in this bad boy:

Never got driven to elementary school, we had neighborhood schools and the kids looked like the neighborhood. We all walked.

Pretty sure my mom drove this. It's been a while but I took the bus mostly.

Dad had this. I remember vividly. Moved in with him in elementary school.

Oldsmobile Cutlass , same color.

The ceiling liner was severely sagging in the back seat. I had to hold it up with an umbrella to keep it off my head

Later on, the engine caught on fire while pulling a Uhaul. Big flames. That was the end of it.

1st grade in 1943-44. WWII; Gas was rationed; vehicles were few and far between. Walked to school.

The mid 90s Dodge Durango in dark blue, and they surprisingly sprung for the 4x4 even though my parents were notoriously cheap (we were very poor)

My dad had a lifted 72-ish Bronco that was bright red and in mint condition, another good looking car that me and my friends all thought was awesome.

Then the Bronco burned down and my dad literally got a rapey looking panel van... and they traded the 4x4 Durango in for one of the ugliest cars ever, a 98 Dodge Intrepid

My parents went from fairly cool cars to two of the absolute ugliest and worst, in a few-month period

I think it was mostly a 1987 Jeep Cherokee limited. We had an Oldsmobile before that but I think it was gone before the era where my mother took us to school since we mostly took the bus in elementary school.
