What’s the OB ranking on trucks these days?

Reading various boards over the years, I’ve gotten the following impressions:
F-150 - standard truck for baws
Chevy/GMC - some loyalists, not broadly popular
Toyota - reliability king, truck for sophisticated people
Ram - nice interior, but crap in general
Titan - n please

But I assume the OB is more reliable, especially on this topic, so what do y’all say?

I have heard mostly the same anecdotally. However, I know a handful of people who drive Rams and I've never heard any of them complain of issues with the truck and needing any repairs.

OB ranking (all 4x4 of course):

White King Ranch F250: God’s Own Truck
Toyota Tacoma: tOfficial Truck of the OB and Baby Jesus’s Own Truck
Toyota Tundra: tOfficial Truck of OB’rs age 35-50 and with kids
Ford F150: “I like to complain, so I bought this truck.”
GMC Sierra: “I like to be different and a truck that rides better than an F150.”
Chevy Silverado: See GMC Sierra but with less money.
Ram: “Screwing fat chicks and driving Ram trucks are both like riding a scooter…”

I've only had 3 pickups in my lifetime as I tend to keep them for a long time. The first was the hybrid Ranchero, the car/pickup based on the Ford Torino body with a pickup bed. Loved it for it's looks and power. Kept that from 78-95.

Next was the little Ford Ranger with the 4 banger engine and 5 speed manual transmission. Great on fuel at 27 city and 31 hwy. and easy to get around town with. Kept that from 95 until Katrina took it in 05.

Present truck is an 06 Chevy Silverado with the V-8 engine, automatic transmission and love it for the bed space and load hauling ability both the other trucks lacked. Sucks for gas mileage though, but I'm now retired so don't use it as much now so going through a tank about every 5-6 weeks or so.

I have to think this was for the 4th gen. The 5th gens are different trucks. I have one(5th gen) now after having two straight GMs that I liked a lot. I would buy the same truck tomorrow if I totaled it.

I drove all of them when it came time to replace my Sierra.

In 2022, it's Ram and it really isn't that close.

If I'm picking just based on exterior aesthetics, I've seen a few GMC's AT4's that look great to me.

However, I currently have a 2008 Tundra that I bought new ~ 255k miles, and never had a single issue. I don't like the looks of the tundra the best, but I would probably stick with Toyota again. Every brand has lemons/duds and people with bad experiences, but my personal experience with Toyota is enough to make me stick with them and I'll likely get the new version after its been out awhile and I see some real world reviews.

I like the RAM interior pics - but I've never driven one.

We have a great Ford dealer in our area that dominates the market. Everyone I know drives a white F150 or F250. But I've also had 2 friends buy brand new ones that immediately had to be fixed for major issues that took months to get back.

Options I would choose in no particular order

Hemi Ram
Coyote F150
6.2 GM

I wouldn't touch a new Tundra right now. I had the last generation, a 2008 for a few years and I like it. My dad had a 2007 and had all the issues they were known for. Toyota drivers put their head in the sand when it comes to their flaws. I think they should have done what ram did, updating the transmission halfway through the run to be more efficient but they stuck with the 6 speed the entire run. A last gen 5.7 Tundra with a 10 speed transmission would be a great option that never existed.

Supply chain issues and quality control issues.
I would have said Ford F150.

Now I would say Dodge Ram.
Common truck, been around, and hemi.

They all have issues.
Ram a Chrysler product.
Ford quality been horrible lately.
GM 5.3 has had issues.
Nissan I had one pre covid in a Diesel and Gas.
-Diesel had issues
-Gas was a solid vehicle just loved alot of gas and not enough to separate it from the pack.
Toyota Tundra just hard to find one.

I've bought over the years, Fords, Nissans, Rams, Chevys. Mostly as work trucks in the places I've run.

My ranking is

Ford
Toyota
Nissan
Chevy
Ram

Based entirely on issues. Even with the Ram's at the bottom, we still bought a lot of them new. But those diesels were snakebit.

Honestly, the Titan is the only truck I have been around that I thought was less than a quality design.

Having owned Toyota, Ford and Chevy they all have +/-‘s, but are very good trucks.

Never owned Dodge, but a couple of buddies owned them and liked them.

Disclosure: Chevy Silverado owner

I have a 2021 F150 Lariat. It would be the perfect truck except I hate the seats. Can’t get truly comfortable. The have too much on the seat right at my shoulder blades. Can’t add enough lumbar to get it right.

My wife has a 2022 Wagoneer. It has the best seats I have ever sat in. If the Ram uses those seats, that will be my next truck, just for the seats.

I have been a Toyota fan most of my adult life, that being said,I have driven the Ram's for the last 8 years as a company work truck, without a single issue.I recently bought a Toy hauler, and while my Tundra could pull it,it was scary with a crosswind.I ordered a Ram 2500 diesel in February, received it it May,and I have to tell you,I think its the best truck I have ever driven,no more worries while pulling the TT.If Toyota made a 3/4 ton diesel,I would own one.But for now,I will stick with the Ram.

Had a 2006 chevy that I put 300,00 miles on before I got rid of it because one valve would tap sometimes(friends said it was because of Gerry Lane using recycled oil and me using their free oil changes). Other than that, no troubles at all other than the truck seemed to eat batteries every 45k miles.
Have a 2018 GMC with 140,000 miles on it and been waiting for the transmission to fall out of it with all the crazy shifting it does. Dealer says noting is wrong with it. Also changed water pump at 60k.
I have that was a die hard Chevy truck fan until he test drove a Dodge Ram that he brought.
