Why has Marvel made Hulk so pathetic over time?

Obviously we got a design change after Edward Norton left, but we started with this beast.

Design changed to make him look more like Ruffalo but it was probably an even better design with less striations and just thicker all around. Looked great and was a solid representation of him.

We got this by Ultron...

Notice the distance between this nose and lip.

Ragnarök we started getting the clown version playing with Thor.

That was basically the last time we saw any semblance of Hulk, because the next time we sort of see him he gets his arse handed to him in 10 seconds by Thanos and never comes back.

And then? This pussy right here.

And now finally...

And yeah, I understand "Professor Hulk" but still...did anyone REALLY want to see that for this long?

So why the desire to neuter him over the films, and why the obvious design change to make him look less like Hulk and more like Ruffalo? Look at the changes in his face from Avengers to She-Hulk. It's practically as different as it was from Edward Norton to Ruffalo. The huge space between his nose and lip are gone and the giant protruding Cro-Magnon eye brows have receded. And he clearly seems to be less hugely muscled, right? Look at how gigantic he looks next to Thor in terms of his shoulders and arms, and then look at that last image of him in a wife beater. It's like he laid off the weights for about a year.

Plus, his posture is all fixed!

Sorry...used to love Hulk, so watching this decline has kind of chapped my arse.

Hulk is the character in the MU (comics version) who has evolved most over time for a couple of reasons.

His powers being tied into a lot of Banner’s heavily buried issues mean that Hulk isn’t particularly stable and will change between forms over time.

The traditional Hulk, Joe Fixit, The Professor, etc. Even one time where he was normally Hulk and getting angry enough would turn him back into Banner.

There has never been a long term successful attempt to get all of Banner’s marbles back, so eventually Hulk makes a drastic change one way or another.

Hulk Smash mode probably costs a lot more money and time for CGI development

He looks like he went on a plant based diet and joined planet fitness now

I never liked the MCU-ified / Disney version. I really enjoyed the Incredible Hulk though

But why in the MCU? This reeks of just Ruffalo's desire to "act" in the role as both Banner and Hulk. Part of what made The Hulk and Banner so much fun and so tragic was that they were separate entities. And when out Hulk was a true wildcard that may fight the team as much as he could be pointed at the foe. Having him wandering around like a giant Mr. Rogers in sweaters and taking selfies is just sad to me.

They took the essence of the character that another company created and shite all over it. Former Star Wars Fans: Isn’t that what Disney does?

because the woke religion says that toxic masculinity is the devil and any and all forms of it must be neutered and destroyed.

thats why they had to make the hulk into a pussy and then make a she hulk that is better and stronger then he ever could be

He's basically just a thick, green soy boy at this point.

What will all of you say when we inevitably get raging Hulk back? If we were still getting raging Hulk, from Ragnarok to She-Hulk, how many of you would still be bitching because it’s repetitive?

It’s a story arc, be patient and let it play out. Like someone said, the Hulk has a ton of different persona’s in the comics. It’s beyond obvious what they’re setting up, but to get to that you gotta have this, this Banner/Hulk conflict.

The only character more emasculated than Thor is Hulk, and both have been done so by the same director that for some reason is beloved on this board.

frick MCU and frick Tiki Wakawaka for destroying these once great characters.

Yup. When I say on here that Ragnarok was a fun movie but a bad Thor movie, the fanboys on here freak out. They have borderline ruined both characters.

And CGI-ing Ruffalo’s stroke mouth onto Hulk is turrible.

Yeah they did actually start it with scared Hulk, which was ridiculous. Wakawaka took scared Hulk, doubled down on him and gave us bumbling idiot Hulk and Nutty Professor version of Banner. Even more ridiculous.

Correction: Infinity War was released the year after Ragnarok, so it really was Wakawaka who first emasculated Hulk. IW doubled down on that and it was all downhill from there.
