Remind me why the FSU game is in New Orleans and not Baton Rouge?

Only way FSU would agree? Money? Recruiting?

Understand these decisions are made years in advance but why play a glorified home game for LSU in New Orleans? We spend millions to upgrade TS, but decide to play in an inferior dome stadium one hour away instead.

IMO the allure of “neutral site” games wore off long ago.

So Teedy can squeeze some more money out of you and provide her constituents with a target Rich area.

The mayor of New Orleans is good friends with the FSU AD

Do UGA fans also bitch about playing their first game in Atlanta?

or Clemson/Georgia Tech?

It’s the first game of the “Louisiana kickoff” which is going to be a new week 1 tradition in the dome similar to the “cowboy classic” in Jerry world every year. It’s only fitting that the in state team play in the first one

They always tout recruiting advantages being in different markets...blah blah. Its all about the $$$

I agree. LSU v TX was so good because it was AT UT.

I can remember when Bobby Bowden brought his powerhouse FL St team to BR in 1991. TS was pretty electric in that close loss.

Should be in BR and Tallahassee.

I think it is a good idea. And this series was planned to be at neutral sites both years.

We have seven games in TS and that is enough.

You do realize LSU plays FSU in Orlando next year? It’s always about money.

Answer is money, but it’s all handled so stupid. Why do these kickoff classics NEED to be at a location? Why can’t a sponsor approach two schools/conferences and make that home and home series the classic for those seasons? There is no logical reason why these games must be played at the same host site. Neutral site games are a cancer to college football.

money is the reason.

And I love the big opening weekend games. If those have to be at neutral sites, so be it.

Of course, I'd prefer these games to be home-and-home, but if the AD agrees to do them at neutral sites, then that's what it is.

But the reason they're at neutral sites is MONEY.
