BRPD still haven’t caught the tPOS who gunned down the lady in her own driveway in the Sherwood Forest area.

Map? Where in BTR is this? I know where Park Forrest is. The same general area?

Millerville at S Harrells Ferry basically. There are jogging/walking trails in the back of the park that go through a wooded area. I'm guessing this is where that happened.

Underreported crime will be a major issue for the next 10 years. Whether it is deliberate, or the unintended consequence of 911 no longer responding to crimes of certain levels, our statistics in this country will soon be meaningless.

Only when committed by the 13%. Every thing else will be double reported.

Did they just publish the story today, presumably after seeing it here?!

Seems that way doesn't it. Got caught trying to hide the crime from the public... for whatever reason and had to hurry up and report it. Happened Wednesday. Pretty suspicious..
This thread starts at 8am..They publish online at 11am.

Same situation I’m in. As soon as I’m able, adios.

Live in a real city, like DFW or Houston. There’s 3-5 times the transients. They just can control theirs better. Don’t get me wrong, Baton Rouge is a shite hole, but the elected officials are too incompetent to better control their issues like larger cities do

Ugh. My husband got mad when a friend & I went walking at Forest Park recently. Said it wasn’t safe, but I disagreed like a dumbass. (I told him he was right & I was wrong after seeing this)

This is awful.

Covering up crimes, especially crimes of certain demographics, is the hallmark of Progressive leadership in this country. Why people keep turning a blind eye to that fact is hilarious to me.

You somehow believe acting histrionic accusing people of covering up crimes you don't even know if have been committed is based upon a political position?

And even more you believe this position is somehow the conservative one?

holy shite, we are doomed as a nation.

Explain how this works in Baton Rouge Our mayor is an abysmal disaster but got reelected with 60% vote The people voted in favor of the City of St. George and the courts shut it down. Short of armed insurrection, what can be done other than move away?

Exactly. The deck is fully stacked against decent people who just want to live a peaceful life. Voting no longer matters. The idea of ‘taking the city back’ sounds great in theory, but when the institutions we fund with confiscated tax dollars actively ignore and work against the people they serve, what can realistically be done?

My bad. When my wife went see her in the hospital she was still in shock and didn't have a working memory of the attack. She has a much better memory of the event now and gave that description to police. She passed him on the trail and they said a generic hi to each other and he doubled back to hit her on the back of the head farther down the trail. She did hit him with a krav maga elbow to the nose and bloodied his face, but that's when he commenced to beating her. Her facial swelling is going down now, has poison ivy all over from wrestling with the guy after he cut her clothes off.
