it was never my choice to be here in the first place, then jobs not available when everyone agrees it’s time to move and then Covid

It’s time to get out of BR now, if you’re able

I hate it and hope they fry the scumbag, but I wish women understood that when they are alone in a semi-isolated environment, they are considered targets by scumbags.

I leave for work at daybreak and often there is an attractive young lady wearing hardly any clothes out running. There are no other cars or people around, it would be so easy for a sicko to throw her in a van and take her to God knows where.

I realize I'll get hate because women have the right to go where and when they want and shouldn't have to worry about creeps.

BREC hired a glass-eyed freak who used to give us the creeps during Day Camp summer of '95.
In October or so of 96 or 97, a young boy was molested at a mall in Lafayette. The sketch artist's likeness was unmistakable. That same day, 2 of the other counselors I had worked with at Farr Park that summer called me and said, "Did you see the fricking Advocate?"

I called Laffy PD and talked to the detective handling the case.

...None of us ever heard the resolution of that case or saw ziltch in the paper.

This was black on black crime.. Could that be the hush factor
Turning this into an issue would lose the current administration about 30% of its votes since the vast majority of the criminals are black men. They will be seen as "snitches" or "tryin' to ack white."

I've been through those trails many times and I wouldn't feel comfortable for my wife or daughter to walk/jog those alone with nobody else around.

Obviously not blaming the victim. She should be perfectly safe to exercise in a park.

A Google search on this crime revealed absolutely nothing about this.

Or, there is always the possibility that it didn't happen. I'm just pointing it out that a savagely raped woman showing up "full of blood" at a park building would almost certainly result in a police report at the very least.

WBRZ

BATON ROUGE - A woman was brutally attacked and sexually assaulted in a BREC park on South Harrells Ferry Road Wednesday afternoon.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said Friday the incident happened shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Community Park on South Harrells Ferry Road.

Officers told WBRZ a woman was walking along a park trail when she was attacked by a male suspect. The man allegedly beat her and sexually assaulted her at the scene.

No information about a suspect has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.

It really might not have happened but the fact it’s so believable says something about BR

ETA I now see the link posted above. To nobody’s surprise, it apparently happened

WRONG! He's on his way to Lutcher right this minute to interview the Mayor's secretary about a cookie tray she bought at the local grocery store using her city credit card, without authorization.

Good, that's much more than a thread that starts with "An unsubstantiated story....".

And also knocks out the conspiracy-minded parts of the OP.

It's a nice park with a semi sketchy past. Most of what I remember happening there was at night though when it's closed.

My neighborhood backs up to those trails although I don't live very close to that part of it.

The fact they gave no description of the suspect guarantees he is black.

"Forrest Park"

As in Nathan Bedford Forrest?

Time for a name change. That'll fix it.
